Despite Scarlet Witch and Quicksilver being revealed recently to be joining Earth's mightiest heroes in The Avengers 2015 sequel, it seems the latter character will first appear in 20th Century Fox's 2014 mutant assembly, X-Men: Days of Future Past. Director Bryan Singer has just tweeted that actor Evan Peters (Kick-Ass, Never Back Down) is joining the ensemble cast of the “In-between-quel.” In other words, Fox just got the jump on Marvel Studios & Avengers 2 director Joss Whedon.
It's well known that both studios complicatedly hold the rights to Quicksilver, aka Pietro Maximoff, and both, therefore, could use him on the big-screen. However, Marvel Studios wouldn't be able to acknowledge the fact that he's a mutant and son of Magneto (who is being portrayed by Ian McKellen in
X-Men: Days of Future Past); an advantage that Fox has. There's no word on whether the film will feature Quicksilver's twin sister, Scarlet Witch aka Wanda Maximoff, but what could Quicksilver's inclusion in
Days of Future Past mean for
The Avengers 2? What do you think?
Anyhow,
X-Men: Days of Future Past is currently filming, and Evan Peters joins Hugh Jackman, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Patrick Stewart, Michael Fassbender,, Ian McKellen, Nicholas Hoult, Omar Sy, Peter Dinklage, Halle Berry, Adan Canto, Fan Bingbing, Anna Paquin, Daniel Cudmore, Ellen Page and Booboo Stewart. Bryan Singer directs the film in theaters on July 18, 2014!
