Dominic Cooper Confused About 'Howard Stark' In CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER

Indicating that Howard Stark may have an affect on Marvel's penultimate Phase 2 plans, Dominic Cooper reiterates he confusingly filmed "something" for Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Actor Dominic Cooper has mentioned on previous occasions that he's set to reprise his role as inventor Howard Stark from 2011's Captain America: The First Avenger in the 2014 sequel, subtitled The Winter Soldier. But the British thespian recently admitted to confusion about his inclusion.

"Well, I kind of am, I never know what to say about this," Cooper told UK TV show This Morning, this morning. "But I have definitely put the costume on. I have worn the costume and we have shot something, but how it's going to enter into the next phase of what they are planning I don't know. I sound so dodgy, I don't even believe myself! I have shot some scenes." It seems Dominic was either uninformed that his scene(s) will appear as flashbacks, or there is something bigger in store for the late father of 'Iron Man' Tony Stark. "I went off and shot something," he continued, "but I can't even work out how my character can be in it; wouldn't I be dead? But anything is possible. They are quite secretive about where they are going to go with the characters and how it will slot in, you have no idea. So you turn up, put your costume on and do as you are told."

“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” picks up where “Marvel’s The Avengers” left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C. Starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp and Maximiliano Hernández with Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is directed by the team of Anthony and Joe Russo from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing the film. Executive producers on the project include Alan Fine, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee. The creative production team on the film includes director of photography Trent Opaloch, production designer Peter Wenham, editors Jeffrey Ford, A.C.E. and Mary Jo Markey, A.C.E. and three time Oscar®-nominated costume designer Judianna Makovsky. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is set for release on April 4, 2014. In addition to “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on other iconic Marvel characters including “Iron Man 3” on May 3, 2013; “Thor: The Dark World ” on November 8, 2013; “Guardians of the Galaxy” on August 1, 2014; “Marvel's The Avengers” sequel on May 1, 2015; and “Ant-Man” on November 6, 2015!

It was probably a flash back he was in. He wasn't filming a scene set in the modern world most likely. Guess will have to wait to find out.

Thank goodness at least some scenes of CA:TWS were shot on soundstages. There might even be a few things we don't see in spy photos months before the film comes out.

Let's hope that Howard Stark isn't the Winter Soldier. After what IM3 just pulled I wouldn't put it passed them to add an unexpected twist now just to add some shock value.

It'll no doubt be a flashback. Especially considering he said "Some Scenes". It implies it wasn't a whole lot, but was needed.

As for Cooper, he did a top job as Howard Stark so it's great to have him involved again in some capacity. Bring it on!

Disinformation. He knows exactly what's going on. Wish I was a fly on the wall at Marvel. That'd be the bees kness!

When RDJ retires from Iron Man, Dominic Cooper would be the perfect replacement as Tony Stark.

When he talks costume he means the character of Stark. I knew a lot of theater actors who refer to playing roles as putting on costumes. As to his 'confusion' on his scenes its because Marvel Studios' policy is to only release the script for the scenes you are in. So he would not know how the scenes he is acting in cut into the rest of the film. Only the principals of the cast get the full script.
