After parting ways with Twilight composer Carter Burwell over "creative differences" last month, Marvel Studios has apparently locked in a replacement for the upcoming film, Thor: The Dark World. According to Film Music Reporter and other sources, composer, producer and conductor Brian Tyler has signed on to tackle the score of the Alan Taylor-directed sequel. There're no further details provided, but Thor: The Dark World is currently in post-production and apparently underwent minor reshoots very recently. Meanwhile, Brian Tyler has also been tapped to score the Michael Bay-produced Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film and past credits include Iron Man 3, The Expendables, Fast Five and Final Destination series. In other Dark World-related news, Heimdall actor Idris Elba promises "there is a story" for the gatekeeper in the much-anticipated Thor follow-up. "The director has gone for a really interesting perspective on the world that Thor comes from," Elba informed Total Film magazine. "But I am there, manning the gate. I think it will be interesting to see what happens from the first film to this film – it’s a really interesting development." What do you think?
