“Guardians of the Galaxy,” the next epic adventure from Marvel Studios, is directed by James Gunn from his screenplay, with a story by Nicole Perlman and Gunn, and the film will introduce audiences to a whole new side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The all-star cast includes Chris Pratt as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, two-time Academy Award nominee Djimon Hounsou as Korath, Academy Award® winner Benicio del Toro as The Collector, Academy Award nominee John C. Reilly as Rhomann Dey, and six-time Academy Award nominee Glenn Close as Nova Prime. Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” is slated for August 1, 2014!

they're building up to thanos,which is sort of good because i do really want to see him but i don't mind waiting a bit longer.

thanos quest movie

the avengers 3 (thanos or the masters of evil)

the infinity gauntlet trilogy (featuring all the heroes & maybe some villains that have featured in all the previous movies)

I hadnt considered that Phase 3 might not culminate with AVENGERS 3, but rather with an event film featuring all the characters and worlds of the MCU. Head a-splode.

Love what they're doing with Thanos. Having him be part of the glue connecting this universe rather than just a villain-of-the-week, the pay off will likely be huge.

there is a 'sort of' Ultron easter egg in Iron Man 3
but its 50/50. If you want to see it as Ultron easter egg then you will...if you are skeptical then its just a faceless Stark drone.

By the way, since it takes place in the future and has time travel, do you think the little boy's real name in Iron Man 3 is Peter Harley Quill? Think about it. A smart ass, wisecracking, techno-genius who lives with his mother out in the sticks and his dad ran away when he was a baby. Sounds like Star Lord's origin to me.
