In “The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2,” for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past. The film is directed by Marc Webb from a screenplay by Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci & Jeff Pinkner, with a previous draft by James Vanderbilt, and based on the Marvel Comic Book by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are the producers. The latest chapter in the Spider-Man story is set for release in 3D on May 2, 2014.

The only thing Gwen had going for her in the first movie was that she was played by Emma Stone, otherwise as a character she was boring.

Hope they change that.

Gwen's death could be great but I think Rachel Dawes stole some of that thunder, add to that the fact that in the first movie both Captain Stacey and Ben died in Peter's arms for me it's already ruined. Don't know why Webb went all "Crime Alley" with Uncle Ben though(that shattered door was just calling for the original B&E death).

It seems to me like Marc Webb is trying to do a LOT of stuff in this one (Electro, Rhino, maybe the death of Gwen, etc. ). Hopefully everything holds up.

I was not a die hard fan of the last Webb Spidey, at all (I rank it above SM3, yet still below SM1, and way below SM2). So, that being said, I am hoping this one is a step above the last, and trying really hard not to flashback to Arnold's Mr Freeze everytime I see Jamie all 'Electro'd' up. If this creative team is in it for the long haul, like it sounds, better to just accept what is, and hope for improvements along the way.
