Marvel Studios’ “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all. Starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård, Idris Elba, Christopher Eccleston, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Kat Dennings, Ray Stevenson, Zachary Levi, Tadanobu Asano and Jaimie Alexander with Rene Russo & Anthony Hopkins as Odin, “Thor: The Dark World” is directed by Alan Taylor, produced by Kevin Feige, from a story by Don Payne and screenplay by Christopher Yost and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and is based on Marvel’s classic Super Hero Thor, who first appeared in the comic book “Journey into Mystery” #83 in August, 1962. “Thor: The Dark World” is presented by Marvel Studios. The executive producers are Louis D’Esposito, Alan Fine, Stan Lee, Victoria Alonso, Craig Kyle and Nigel Gostelow. The film releases November 8, 2013, and is distributed by Walt Disney Studios.

What's up with his [frick]in face!? Nah Jk.... But seriously though people are gonna hate on this movie just like every [frick]ing other comic book movie since the dawn of time. And you know what? Ill be the one to say it I liked Iron Man better than I liked the Avengers. The main reason I loved the Avengers was that I was literally giggling like a kid when I saw the helicarrier fly and Hulk beat the shit out of Loki and Thor and Iron Man fight.

Cool. Though promotion for this movie is putting a bigger emphasis on Loki than Malekith.

Malekith looks badass, I hope he gets his chance to shine, other than let Loki get the spot light.

Hiddleston is definitely a big draw for a lot of movie-goers at this point - moreso than they initially realised, it seems, considering the extra scenes being put in following Comic Con - but yeah, it's a bit strange. I think the imagery surrounding Malekith is especially potent, and yet there's extremely little of it used to promote this.

I think the trailers have been really poorly cut (they keep slapping the Sif/Jane confronting Loki scenes together, awkwardly, taking the impact out of both), and decidedly underwhelming, so my secret hope is that they're deliberately Loki-focused to sell the movie and that the movie itself is a much stronger, much more coherent whole than the trailers suggest.

Am I an idiot for not knowing what happens to his face that turns it from this epicness into even more epicness (aka half dark)?

I just hate that they think adding more loki will get more money. Also marvel stop changing the characters costumes unless you explain it. Every character isn't iron man.

Poor Malekith. Fellow pops up here and there to remind us all that he's in the film, but a few seconds later Loki brings the whole thing 'round to himself again.

If this movie gets a good WOM, it'll hit a billion $s. Watch!!

I hadn't watched the first movie since before the Avengers came out. After rewatching it (today), I can appreciate it much more. I originally disliked it for its odd conglomeration of set pieces, occasional poor acting, and quirky jokes, but for some reason they didn't bother me this time around. In retrospect, I think the issues that I mentioned were actually rather small issues that I (and many of us) had blown out of proportion. It may not have been what we were hoping for, but it is still an enjoyable movie.

By the looks of it, the sequel is really going to up the game, and I can't wait. With Taylor at the helm, I think this might be the Thor movie we all wanted to see the first time around. And who knows, it may actually help some of us enjoy the first one a bit more.

Well, remember, Thor: The Dark World is coming off the success of The Avengers with an awesome and much better director at the helm than the first one. Like I said, if it gets good WOM, it has more than enough legs to hit a billion $s.

Thor 2 will not make a billion. I can promise you, with God as my witness, Thor 2 won't make a billion. Now it looks good and will be good but it won't make a billion.

Skyfall made a billion due to lack of competition in November and December. 2 weeks after Thor 2, Hunger Games could out which made more than Thor 1 and was like the fourth highest grossing film of 2012.

I do think Thor 2 will be the best MCU film but it won't be a billion. It won't.
