While promoting his recent film, Jimmy P., actor Benicio Del Toro talked a bit about his role as Taneleer Tivan aka The Collector in Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy. Speaking with French magazine Les Inrockuptibles, the Academy Award winner said, "When someone calls you and says ‘I need you in my movie’, it’s exciting. I like comic-book movies, and it’s totally new for me. My character is The Collector, I’ve never heard of him so I just started some researches about him... A blockbuster can be really tiring to do, but it’s fun to shoot one occasionally. You have many people around you who bombard you with many information… You can not go wrong." Benicio Del Toro continues, "For example they told you ‘Now you have to go in this restaurant and kill this person.’ And then you ask: ‘Who? The blue haired girl, or the guy with the wig? ‘And you don’t get the answer. And suddenly, you heard ‘Action!’. And you have to go along: so you shoot everywhere and they’ll find a solution for the final cut." (transcription via @Agraoufan) Meanwhile, Benicio Del Toro was apparently filming scenes alongside Lee Pace's Ronan the Accurser during the recent night shoot for Guardians of the Galaxy. im so excited for this movie,it wories me because i think i liked all the superhero films this year and last because i wasnt really excited for them so it could not let me down but im so excited for this, i worry its gonna be bad.

Wow that doesn't sound like good directing if they don't tell him who he shooting at how actor supposed feel like he doing his job right if doesn't know what hell going on. I mean Ridley Scott didn't tell Harrison ford what to do in Blade runner because he thought Ford was doing fine but Ford was not happy about not knowing what was going on Ridley scott said he learn from that mistake. Everything work out but still.

im completely losing my sh$t over how much I want to see this movie NOW, NOW!...NOW!!! - even if it doesn't do well it wont stop marvel studios from trying new and different properties - but I feel this will do huge over seas and big over here...most likely warrant a sequel! Yet I want phase 3 more and more

anyone else suspect that with Ronan the Accuser being confirmed as the main baddie for this flick, that Del Toro is actually playing Thanos and they're keeping it under wraps? I know its a long shot, but at the very least its more credible than anything El Mayimbe reports.

Warlock regenerates in a huge cocoon thing in the comic book - would be weird.

Collector is strange character for this he is one of the Elders ...he kinda goes around collecting stuff..maybe gems?
