Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all. It opens in theaters November 8, 2013.

Why not throw the Avengers weight around. If I were in marketing I have Avengers in every sentence. Coming in November, 17 months from Avengers 2, Thor, who is an Avenger, stars Chris Hemsworth and Natalie Portman, who was not in Avengers....

Avengers is a part of the story. It was that way for Iron Man and it will be the same way for Cap'n A.

It completes each quadrilogy

^ its apart of marketing. From The Studio That Brought You MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS will draw people to this. Nothing wrong with that.

after Iron Man 3 hitting the $q billion mark and seeing all the epic-ness of Thor trailers, the cast of both Cap 2 and GotG..i think Marvel's Phase 2 might actually be the FIRST franchise with EACH movie joining the $1 billion club.

sure..the last two's got miles to climb, but marvel's confidence is actually contagious..and i'm gettin' the marvel fever like, im sure, many moviegoers worldwide.

"MOS TRAILERS WERE 100 TIMES BETTER"

@ mantinium

i'm betting that man of steel isn't 100 times better than thor the dark world.

it wasn't even better than the wolverine,so it won't be hard to be better than man of steel.

I'm a huge Thor fan, but this movie looks generic at best. And Thor has many other enemies that would have been more interesting. Hopefully I'm wrong.

So....anyone who uses the word "dark" in their title is copying Nolan? When he created that word, he really should have gotten a copyright on it.

I like how the red cape flows from under the MARVEL logo. They should keep that for the film

You know, if I would have met Osama Bin Laden around 2002, I totally would have just slapped him and said "that was for New York" but then done nothing else. We forget because Loki is likable, but this guy carried out a 9/11 level or higher attack on a civilian target. I think the level of destruction in The Avengers hasn't been properly dealt with in the MCU. Skye says that SHIELD cleaned up New York before anyone had a chance to see what happened, but there were space whales smashing straight through buildings and crap exploding everywhere. I personally think they handled the destruction better than Man of Steel, but hopefully Thor 2 brings this stuff up in regard to Loki. And just how much of Jotunheim did he destroy with the bifrost in the first movie?

Lol

"Witness the return of an Avenger"

Yes. Show us how it's done Thor, because someone else failed in that department.

I really don't like the "That was for New York" scene, should have said that was for Selvig or New Mexico in my opinion.

P.S.

What's a PRINCESSE?

Darkman, Dark City....

Guess Spielberg should get on their asses for copying Lost World as well.
