BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN: WB Exec. Won't Confirm Nor Deny 'Wonder Woman' Rumors

"Everything that's been speculated are things we've thought about," assures Warner Bros.' Greg Silverman after being questioned about Wonder Woman's rumored role in Batman Vs. Superman and more!

While director Zack Snyder shot his first scenes for the tentatively titled Batman Vs. Superman movie over the weekend, prior buzz surrounding the production was that Wonder Woman would join the DC Comics duo. Speaking at Variety's Entertainment & Tech Summit, the president of creative development & worldwide production of Warner Bros., Greg Silverman, was asked about the rumors.

“We have been doing a lot of thinking for years about how to best use all those characters and we love them,” Silverman said. “Wonder Woman is an amazing character. I think it’s a great opportunity both for box office success, but also to have an amazingly powerful female superhero.” When asked more directly would the Amazon princess appear in Batman Vs. Superman or get her own film, Silverman dodged the question with, “We are taking it all very seriously and are trying to do a plan that’s respectful to those characters and maximizes the stories as best they can. So everything that has been speculated are things that we’ve thought about.”

Addressing the moot casting of Ben Affleck as the Caped Crusader, the Warner Bros. executive says, “We knew going in that we had more information than the general public had. We knew what the take of the movie was, we knew what the character was going to be. We don’t take these decisions lightly. We thought about everybody — brand new people, established people. Ben is the perfect guy to play this role,” says Silverman of the Oscar-winning actor.

Keeping mum on how Batman and Henry Cavill's Superman will interact - “they both will be wearing suits, there are capes involved, there will be action, there will be excitement” - the Warner Bros. executive reassures that Zack Snyder and David Goyer's story will do both of the DC heroes justice. “They’ve crafted a great story,” he said. “I mean, this is where it all comes from for us. It’s just a great story that involves these amazing characters.” What do you think?

If Wonder Woman is in the film then, let it be a Marvel-esque scene or have it be the very last shot and mention her name before cutting to the credits. Otherwise, it'll be overkill. I also think a kryptonite laced suit would be the perfect way for Batman to use Kryptonite in a believable way without using that clunky armor.

@AlphaPsychoWolf: It doesn't depend on how well Cap does, it depends if Warner Bros wants to give the light to, The Flash. If it depended on Caps success, the first one (best of the phase one solos in my opinion) would've been the cause. The success of, Captain America: The Winter Soldier has nothing to do with if we are going to get a Flash movie in 2016 or in general. That's like saying Iron Man was made based off of Batmans success and Cap was based off of Supermans success. Both of which are inaccurate.

This would be awesome. Bringing Wonder Woman in perhaps to set up for Justice League film.

Now if only The Flash was included as a cameo in this then i'd be celebrating.

Don't!

I agree with Edgy, it's overkill. A cameo is best. But don't do it the Marvel way, on the after credit scene. I'm sure they can do better than to go with the established way.

That'd be pretty cool if they announce Wonder Woman and Flash movies for 2016 then JL for 2017. They'd already have 4/5 members they were "reportedly" using in the JL a few months ago. GL could even be reintroduced as a plot device, like he comes to warn Earth's heroes of Brainiac coming.

@ Orehrepus

Agree with you, not after credit scene, but a rather good cameo to introduce her. Wonder Woman does not have the grounding like Supes and Bats for a stand alone movie. Maybe later in a Justice League movie would suit her better.

Wondy doesn't have to actually be in it or make a cameo. Just a little easter egg or nod to her existence or the Amazons would be enough within itself and will lay the foundation of whats to come for the character, be it a TV or film
