New CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER Poster Hits with Countdown To Official Trailer

TWO DAYS ahead the official teaser trailer, Marvel has released a brand new Captain America: The Winter Soldier theatrical poster featuring the Super Soldier readying to dive into Washington, D.C.!

By DCMarvelFreshman - Oct 22, 2013 09:10 AM EST

In tune with the international release of Thor: The Dark World, whose red carpet premiere is in London today, Marvel has released a brand-spanking new Captain America: The Winter Soldier poster in anticipation of the first official trailer! While the teaser will debut this Thursday, co-director Joe Russo recently described the sequel "very emotional for a Marvel film." He added, "It allows us to care about Steve Rogers as a character. So when there is jeopardy we're on-board with him." Anyhow, check out the awesome poster below and the teaser trailer in just two days!

HIGH-RES VIA STITCH KINGDOM

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy — the Winter Soldier. Starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp and Maximiliano Hernández with Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is directed by the team of Anthony & Joe Russo from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing the film. Executive producers on the project include Alan Fine, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee. The creative production team on the film includes director of photography Trent Opaloch, production designer Peter Wenham, editors Jeffrey Ford, A.C.E. and Mary Jo Markey, A.C.E. and three time Oscar®-nominated costume designer Judianna Makovsky. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is set for release on April 4, 2014.

Awesome poster but eerily similar to the Iron Man 3 poster with Tony, having the same pose as Cap. Marvel likes to reuse I guess. Still pretty freaking awesome poster.

The tone of the poster is pretty different from most other Marvel movies. Really hoping it's a Jason Bourne type of spythriller.

Sometimes I forget that not every body follows movies from the start of production. Every time I'm in the theater and a trailer comes on I hear "they're making another one? "... *facepalm*..

Love the design choice, especially that it reflects the teaser of Iron Man 3, keeping with a corporate design for the MCU films

So much win! :') By far my most anticipated solo movie. The First Avenger is the best solo movie in my opinion and my favorite solo so far. I hope this one knocks it out of the park. It should be emotional, very dramatic, a great villain, violent, edge of your seat. But mostly (and I've said this already) emotional. Despite Iron Man being the start of the universe, Captain America is the heart and therefore his films should be the most emotional films. First film had action, romance, a great (although under developed) villain, humor and emotion. All that needs to be raised higher and I really think and hope Marvel did just that. This could seriously be Marvel and Captain Americas, The Dark Knight.
