Another FRIDAY THE 13TH Remake Is Coming In 2015!

Horror fans! Not much is known, but is seems Paramount Pictures has canned its Friday the 13th (2009) sequel and, instead, scheduled a 2015 remake for Jason Voorhees' 13th turn on the big-screen!

It was first reported back in June that Paramount Pictures and Platinum Dunes were teaming for a sequel to the Friday the 13th 2009 remake, which was followed by rumblings that the studio was considering a "found footage" approach to the horror franchise. Now Paramount has scheduled the new film based on the masked slasher Jason Voorhees for a March 13th, 2015 release date. However, given that 'Friday the 13th' is listed as the surely tentative title, it seems the 2015 return to Camp Crystal Lake will not be a direct sequel, but another remake entirely. Ironically the 13th installment to the Friday the 13th series altogether, the new film's March release date pits it against Disney's Cinderella as well as Warner Bros.' In the Heart of the Sea. What do you think?

Aren't they supposed to be doing another Freddy vs. Jason movie anyway? I guess they might do this to get prepared for the Freddy vs Jason film?

The very first Friday The 13th was shit..and they've made 11 progressively worse sequels. What does that tell you about the quality we can expect from this reboot?

A remake of a remake.

It's stories like these that remind me of how dry the creativity of the human mind can be.

If they feel there are people willing to pay to see some retarded hockey mask killer run around killing people with a machete for the 100th lets make it.

Wtf?! Really Hollywood? It's bad enough that the 2009 was horrible, so now you want to start over...AGAIN?!

This franchise is dead. Hollywood should just let it be and try to do something original in the horror genre instead of remaking/rehashing old movies.

This is stupid. If they remake a remake of something that was actually good, you can consider me officially done with any horror movie that isn't Final Destination

If they approach it with respect and to give real scares, then Im all for it. If its the same bs we've been getting like the last one or Nightmare on Elm Street, then why bother?

It would be cool if they rebooted Nightmare on Elm Street too. But the movie should be about Freddy Kruger the child murder. Before the parents burnt him. And the same goes for Friday the 13th. It should show young Jason getting bullied by other campers & staff. Then he drowns and his mom comes back and kill everybody. It should be like Rob Zombie's Holloween remake. When we saw what happened to Michael Myers.

After 9/11, many school shootings and mass murders, serial killers and the Obama Presidency, things that were scary 30 years ago are tame now.

Michael Meyers, Jason, Freddy would get bent over in today's World.
Myers and Jason would be doing their thing and a group of teens have a couple of guns and shoot them. They go down and get up. They get shot, go down get up. The group realizes that these dudes can't die. They chain them up when they're down. Whip out the cell phones and record days of humiliating torture and beatings administered to these 2 one time boogeymen. They beat them, cut them, put the dogs on them just to see how much these 2 "Boogeymen" can take. They eventually rip them to pieces and post the whole thing on You Tube.

Moral of the story is: The World now; is more evil, twisted and dangerous than the old "Boogeymen" of the 80's.

I think the only "horror" film that would scare people in this 'Dark World' would be called Christmas. And in the film Christ returns and stalks people and if he touches them they are saved.
So good can scare people in an evil, dark world but Evil just fits right in.

"Ironically the 13th installment to the Friday the 13th series altogether"

This is ironic because...? Perhaps you meant, "Coincidentally". "Ironic" is a word that some people (and amateurish writers) have a tough time grasping, but it's just when things are the opposite of what you'd expect. To demonstrate, I'll change the author's sentence so it becomes ironic:

"Ironically the 13th installment to the There-Will-Never-Be-Sequels franchise altogether" See?
