Ladies first! While chatting with the New York Daily News, Zoe Saldana discussed her upcoming film Out of the Furnace and briefly commented on her role in Guardians of the Galaxy. “Gamora doesn’t wake up every morning and go, ‘I’m super-fantastic!’ She just comes from a planet where everybody is green and strong,” Saldana said. “She’s just an everyday person there.”

Meanwhile, during the BAFTA Children Awards 2013, Be the Red Carpet caught up with English actor Peter Serafinowicz, who voiced Darth Maul in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace, and asked about his role in Guardians of the Galaxy. “It's not really a superhero film per se,” he said. “It feels more like a Star Wars kind of film. And I play a kind of space cop.” His Nova Corps officer, who's a superior to John C. Reilly's Rhomann Dey and inferior to Glenn Close's Nova Prime, notoriously dubbed the Guardians a “bunch of a-holes” in the San Diego Comic-Con footage.

It seems that Chris Pratt would sorta concur Peter Serafinowicz's Star Wars comparison. Speaking with Babble, the Star-Lord actor and his Delivery Man co-star Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill) were asked about their Marvel Universe ventures. “I think we’re both pretty excited,” said The Avengers actress. “From the world of creative fun and fantasy, I’m really excited to be a part of anything Marvel because it’s supported by such great fans and it’s just a dream.” “Ditto!” Pratt chimed. “Guardians of Galaxy is Marvel’s take on a rocking, space opera-type story, and it’s so imaginative. Not really allowed to say even that, but I’m beyond excited.” Pratt isn't allowed to categorize Guardians of the Galaxy? Marvel snipers must have been on-break during the interview.




“Guardians of the Galaxy,” the next epic adventure from Marvel Studios, is directed by James Gunn from his screenplay, with a story by Nicole Perlman and Gunn, and the film will introduce audiences to a whole new side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The all-star cast includes Chris Pratt as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, Zoe Saldana as Gamora, Dave Bautista as Drax the Destroyer, Lee Pace as Ronan the Accuser, Michael Rooker as Yondu, Karen Gillan as Nebula, two-time Academy Award nominee Djimon Hounsou as Korath, Academy Award® winner Benicio del Toro as The Collector, Academy Award nominee John C. Reilly as Rhomann Dey, and six-time Academy Award nominee Glenn Close as Nova Prime, with Vin Diesal as Groot and Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper as Rocket Raccoon. Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” is scheduled for release August 1, 2014!

Jazzman-james gunn has said that they are early in the VFX process and they want rocket and groot to look as awesome as they would in the film, im thinking january or februaru at the most with the superbowl or robocop

Batmaniac- yeah, i think the interviewers always try to get them to compare to each other,i like that it is gonna be a space adventure film that just to happen to have characters that are superheroes

Batmaniac-plus when people think of space operas or space films, star wars comes to mind,but i think pratt said it the best that it is Marvel's take on a space opera type film

i really cant wait for the trailer to hit. the only thing i dont like is the casting of Zoe Saldana as Gamora. i rather Paula Patton or Rachel Nichols oh well i just have to expect it lol.

i agree with you i hate the Star Wars comparison. when actors say that i just remember when Ryan Reynolds compare Green Lantern as Space Opera like Star Wars and look what happen with that mess of a movie.

If the Thor 2 mid-credit scene was any solid indication, this is way less Star Wars than The Fifth Element.

Perfect description. This is much bigger than just a Guardians of the galaxy film. This is Marvel's first step into their cosmic world. I won't be surprised if this leads to Ms. Marvel film and the Kree.

i think james gunn knows its a risk and thats why he has said multiple times that he wanted the best people for every job whether it be cinematographer ,set designer ,actors because he wants the movie to look as beautifully as possible and the actors to do the best they can with the characters, he has said the story and voice came to him immediately , he wants the tone to be out there and unique as possible but have characters that we can relate to an emotional level

Marvel-i dont think it will, jj abrams star trek is very sterile and clean looking, this from the footage looks to be more dirty and gritter looking

Marvel- dude im excited too but hold off on comments such as it will be better then green lantern, i dont like green lantern but guardians may turn out to be as bad or worse then green lantern even, we dont know yet, you dont wanna look like an idiot if guardians isnt good next year,i really want guardians to be good too,i realllly do ,but lets just hold off and see

The character designs are terrible... The 1st concept art would have been way better... But I still hope the movie will be good
