Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” continues the big-screen adventures of Thor, the Mighty Avenger, as he battles to save Earth and all the Nine Realms from a shadowy enemy that predates the universe itself. In the aftermath of Marvel’s “Thor” and “Marvel’s The Avengers,” Thor fights to restore order across the cosmos…but an ancient race led by the vengeful Malekith returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. yes. the one shot was heimdalls helmet. there is no way he could move wearing the helmet is is supposed to wear. so they changed it digitally.

It's always funny to see people complain about cgi especially when it's done so well, reminds me of when they showed all those scenes from The Avengers that were never really shot in NY, people didn't bitch till that came out and saw how much as green screen, what also made me laugh was that in the same video they made it clear to why they could shoot there.

I never knew that was a cgi helmet but this just shows how far technology has come and the things that could be done in future films, I love practical effects was much as the next person but when the visual effects are done this good and at this level I can't complain.

I think that Alan Taylor has a promising career in cinema. The visuals in this movie reminded me of Guillermo Del Toro's effects. He is another director that can do great stuff with fantasy.
