ARROW Star Stephen Amell Had Talks About Appearing In JUSTICE LEAGUE

Though he stresses that development on the inevitable DC team-up flick is "slower than we think," The CW's Arrow star says he's "definitely" had talks about joining the ranks on the big-screen

While there's been chatter about more Justice League characters appearing on Arrow as The CW television series moves into its 2nd season, Stephen Amell, still insists his iteration of Oliver Queen, aka Green Arrow, could crossover with Warner Bros' DC cinematic universe... whenever the Justice League hits the big-screen in full glory (presumably post-Batman Vs. Superman). “All we have to do for something like that to happen, or even be a possibility, is continue to take care of business with our show and then we put ourselves in a position – but the important thing is our show,” the actor told Fandango, confirming that there have been studio level talks. “I have had discussions, but I think the gestation process for this project is a lot slower than most people think. I mean, they haven't even shot the next one. They haven't even shot a frame of the movie before the movie everyone thinks is the Justice League movie!” What do you think?

I think, discussions at any level aside, you will not see any tv actor appear as that same character in a DC/WB big -screen outing.

I think not having him as Green Arrow in a JL movie would be idiotic at this point. He totally needs and deserves to be part of it.

Also "the gestation process for this project is a lot slower than most people think"... and i thought it couldn't get any slower than that..

I really don't see any point to rebooting the Green Arrow character again just for the big screen. Keep the TV actors in there and use the series as a rich origin story (and a chance to introduce more of the DCU roster without having to have everyone crammed into cinematic outings).

There is no valid reason for there not to be a shared universe between TV and Film

If Arrow is incorporated into the DCCU then it will have Arrow's Huntress, Count Vertigo and various others including Flash. I don't want Arrow's representations of those characters.

@knocturnalzen10: Welcome to the New52 (Even if it looks more like Smallville's Green Arrow than Hawkeye)

Besides, if Constantine and Gotham don't link to the DCCU then I don't see why Arrow should.

Talks with who? I don't see it happening. I've seen the show and it's decent enough for what it is, but, I don't think Amell has the chops, nor does Gustin have the right look for the big screen versions of their respective characters. Stranger things* have happened, but, this is the Smallville pipedream all over again.

@MexicanSuperman
Dude you have no idea what your talking about. The deathstroke costume looks great as does the green arrow suit. All they need is his signature Mustache. I think the huntress costume was great and tasteful. I can see it working great in the DCCU

It would be easy to simply pull from what is already a very good show. Therefore I doubt DC/WB will do it. Instead they'll waste our time with a reboot, of a reboot and a skinny Wonder Woman. Yup that still ticks me off, maybe the push back will allow for proper RE-CASTING? I don't know why DC/WB can just sit down & come up with a long term game plan?

Also it would the biggest waste for Warner Bros. "Here lets make a great and successful Tv show to introduce people to our lesser known characters, then for the sake of were not sure how it will look, were gonna discount all of that great stuff." yeah great logic

QuestionTheAnswer brings up another good point. It's kind of a package deal. You got an established group of characters and stroryline. Certain aspects of the show could be changed for the movie, but, in that case, why cherry pick the show at all?

If Stephen Amell continues to charm audiences with his appearances on talk shows and the show grows in popularity then YES I can see Amell playing Arrow in a JL film. I don't buy that bullshit tv actor stuff because one of the prime characters throughout phase one of the MCU was Agent Coulson Clark Gregg- what when everyone was watching New Adventures of Old Christine they said "oh he's talented but not really a movie level SHIELD agent character".
AMELL WILL BE FINE

By the time a JL film hits ARROW wont be a show anymore. Who the hell thinks ARROW is going to be on tv come 2018?

Amell will transfer over no problem
GeekyCheekyChic
GeekyCheekyChic - 1/22/2014, 7:25 AM
we are at best 4-5 years away from a Justice League movie and that's if they film BvS and JL back to back. Arrow will be done- six seasons is a good run. Smallville went ten but should have stopped at five.

I think if they didnt introduce Flash it would be perfect but now like what was said above you had to use both or none...i think that would be the most logical choice but you never know in Hollywood these days
