Ezra Miller Talks About Playing THE FLASH; Says The CW TV Show Is "Awesome"

A rather bubbly Ezra Miller recently caught up with MTV to promote his two new movies (Trainwreck & The Stanford Prison Experiment). While there, he opened up about 'The Flash' in the DCEU - also revealing his love for The CW's TV show! Hit the jump to check it out!

Ezra Miller dropped by MTV recently to promote not one but two of his new movies - the Amy Schumer-led comedy Trainwreck and the real life indie drama, The Stanford Prison Experiment. While there, he opened up a little more about playing 'The Flash' on film in Zack Snyder & Warner Bros' DC Extended Universe. Unsurprisingly, he was his usual entertaining and, um... eccentric self, but he also had plenty of great stuff to say about his interest in the character.

"Barry Allen is the hero of the Silver Age, who follows a lot of really interesting discoveries in physics," Miller claimed, "It's like, where he comes from, we've figured out the event horizon was there, and then he was the character that was created through our mythos machine of comic books to break that event horizon so we could explore in fantasy. I think that's an interesting idea - and also what the f*ck does that do to someone?"

He was also asked about whether he was avoiding The CW's popular TV show, which features the same character but is not affiliated with the DCEU. Happily, it turns out Mr. Miller is a big fan of his TV counterpart! "I'm not avoiding it all. I think it's awesome!" Ezra revealed, "Come on, we're The Flash! It's parallel universes! Grant Gustin is The Flash and I'm The Flash - don't you see? It's the Event Horizon, we crossed it baby! Grant and I are chilling. We're gonna have a race - it's gonna be dope! Like Jay Garrick and Barry Allen back in the day!"

Miller's passion for The Flash is infectious here. The talented young actor's casting as Barry Allen may have divided the fanboy community, but it's clear he personally feels no ill-will towards his fellow Scarlet Speedster, Grant Gustin. Who knows? Maybe one day they will get the chance to run that race together! Check out the full interview below, and leave your thoughts in the comments!

The Flash will zoom into theatres 23 March, 2018.

He's as psyched about being the Flash as he is high! Still not totally sold on this casting choice, but he's a fun guy, to be sure.

Btw, does this confirm he's playing Barry Allen or did we already know or is he just high?

@DrKinsolving

That trailer confused me when I first watched it, because I've already seen a movie based on that experiment quite a while ago. Only it wasn't directly about the actual event in 1971, just taking the situation and setting it in modern Germany:

I'm really interested to see the effects of the Flash in the DCEU. With two recent live action QS's and the TV flash, they're going to have to try hard to be different and new, but I can't wait to see what they come up (especially is Snyder is involved.) The DCEU is starting to look legit. I just wish FOX wasn't out there making crappy movies and it was just DC and Marvel.

Ray Fisher was cast as Cyborg sometime last year.
