Shocker! Mads Mikkelsen Is "Not A Bad Guy" In ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY
Hannibal star Mads Mikkelsen has forged quite a reputation for playing sinister and nefarious characters in the past. Many had assumed he would play a similar role in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. Apparently, that's not the case after all...
Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen is most famous for playing villainous roles in high profile movies and TV shows. With sinister turns in the likes of Hannibal and Casino Royale, the talented actor has impressed audiences time and time again, and built up quite a fan following for his work. Imagine our surprise then, when the actor himself revealed that he is not playing an antagonist in Gareth Edwards' highly anticipated spin-off, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
Speaking to Danish paper Ekstra Bladet (via StarWars7News.com & the magic of Google Translate), Mikkelsen remained as tight-lipped as possible about his role. However, he did betray one major detail. "It is very important role, a much I can say," he claimed, before adding, "No, my character is actually not a bad guy, and then I can not say more. I can also say that the movie will be shot in Iceland and England. And the filming will last for three months."
What do you think of these developments. Do you think Disney have missed a trick, or are you happy Mikkelsen is avoiding type-casting? Bloodline star Ben Mendelsohn is widely rumored to actually be the movie's main villain. The prospect of the two formidable actors going head-to-head sounds pretty exciting to me! But what do you think? Sound off below!
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will hit theatres December 16, 2016.
