'Euron Greyjoy' Has Reportedly Been Cast In GAME OF THRONES Season 6
A recent casting call seemed to indicate that the sinister and ruthless Euron Greyjoy would be heading to the sixth season of Game Of Thrones. Now some set reports seem to have confirmed those claims. Hit the jump to see who's reportedly playing him!
While viewers are up-to-date with most of the A Song Of Ice And Fire plotlines in Game Of Thrones after Season 5, there are still a few loose ends to tie up. One of which regards House Greyjoy, who've been given the short end of the stick in terms of screentime after their pivotal role in Season 2. A recent casting call seemed to indicate this family would return, and now it appears the HBO show has found an actor to portray one of its most exciting and sinister characters.
Fan site Watchers On The Wall are claiming that the part of 'Euron Greyjoy' has been cast, after Danish actor Pilou Asbæk (Borgen) was spotted filming scenes with fellow cast members in Northern Ireland. If this is true, then Euron's arrival should set in motion a number of interesting storylines for next year. Book readers will be well aware of the Crow's Eye's ruthless personality - he's easily one of the most despicable characters author George R.R. Martin has created to date.
To those who know the character, do you think Asbæk is a good fit? The Danish star isn't the only new face headed to Thrones next year - joining veteran actors Max von Sydow and Ian McShane. Are you excited about the way Season 6 is shaping up so far? Be sure to leave your thoughts below!
