Alan Tudyk Would Play BLUE BEETLE If It Meant Working With Nathan Fillion As BOOSTER GOLD

Alan Tudyk has claimed he'd be interesting in starring in that rumored Booster Gold/Blue Beetle movie - so long as it meant re-uniting with his longtime friend and Firefly & Con Man co-star Nathan Fillion.

One of comics' best bromances meets one of television's greatest working relationships! Recently, a rumor sprung up about the existence of a Booster Gold/Blue Beetle movie in development at Warner Bros. While we've heard no official word about it since, the project was said to be a buddy cop movie of sorts - a more light-hearted tale set in the world of the DCEU.

Accurate or not, these reports sparked a wave of fan-casting on social media - the most popular of which involved re-uniting Firefly alums Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk as Michael Carter and Ted Kord respectively. Two months ago, the former claimed he'd love to star as the cocky, time-travelling superhero, and now his longtime friend has thrown his hat into the ring to feature alongside him.

Speaking to Comicbook.com at NYCC, Tudyk expressed an interest in the movie, despite having heard nothing about it or Fillion's interest. "Well that's great. If it's working with Nathan, I'm in," he claimed, "
Also, being a bug for me? I’d like that. Roly-poly is nice. I’d like to be one of them. That’s what we called them back in Texas, but they’re almost a beetle."

Obviously this isn't confirmation about anything, but it's exciting to hear he's interested in the role. Many had either Tudyk or Fillion pegged to star in Ant-Man, but their age likely ruled them out of contention. Would it get in the way here, or are you interested in the prospect of two older, comedic leads headlining a DCEU movie? We know they've got the chemistry! Sound off below!

Who knows? Maybe Joss Whedon would jump ships to direct...

I'm sorry to say it but Nathan isn't the right choice for Booster Gold and I don't think Alan is good for Blue Beetle too. Alan could pull off the nerdy genius, but not the crime fighter part. You have to remember Michael was a professional Football player before he became the superhero Booster Gold and I just don't see that with Nathan.

No offence, but Joss Whedon needs to stay the hell away from big movies for a while. He kinda sucks. Don't get me wrong, I love some of Marvel's movies, but both Avengers films kinda underwhelmed me.

Matthew McConaughey and Patrick Wilson are my choices for this. But Fillion would be cool

@DrunkenNukem

Nathan Fillion is actually a year younger, 44, then Matt Damon, 45. Personally I would love to see these two team up for a movie they are both hilarious. I do get why people are sick of Nathan Fillion being pushed for every nerd movie role it doesn't mean I wouldn't love to see him take on a comic book movie character.

I would really like to see Batman wipe the floor with these guys at some point in the DCCU, just to make the pecking order quite clear when it comes to non-powered superheroes.

The two of them will not get the roles and it's not because of their fame, age, or fitness levels. Anyone who goes out publicly and says they want a role is guaranteeing they will not get it, studios and directors like to surprise people and feel like they are following their own vision. Channing Tatum as Gambit is kind of the exception that proves the rule because he has a proven box office record and appeal for both males and females.

I personally see them working more in Space Ghost. One could even be the chimp. Space Ghost is after all a DC property. You could even make it like Space Ghost has retired from crime fighting and is now a late night talk show host, like in Space Ghosts Coast to Coast. Or if they really wanted to do something crazy have it be about Space Ghoast fighting the Wonder Twins.

Why are you guys complaining about age when Ben Affleck is nearly the same age as them and is in playing in a role, Batman, that would require his presence in more films than them.

Idk who they should play for Blue and Gold but their humor is best played off of others. Batman is too busy, even if he's the best straight-man. Hopefully, they'd add the JLI and JLE cast w/ some fun choices and starpower.

From JLI, they should hire the most popular Brazilian and Scandinavian pop-star to play Fire and Ice. Or just use some American pop-stars:

Fire and Ice:

Rocket Red:

Captain Atom:

Martian Manhunter:

It would be fun to see the two of them as that duo. But, it is tough to set up their origins quickly to a mass audience.

Booster is a failed athlete who steals super-hero relics from a museum in the future and then he travels back to our time to be a hero.

Ted Kord is like Batman if his Dad had lived and then bullied him his whole life. Blue Beatle is Ted's way of rebelling and proving his father wrong. He enjoys it but isn't obsessed like Batman is. He has no powers and isn't nearly as athletically gifted as Batman, or as smart. He does have the Bug though and that thing is awesome.

I think they would fit into the Arrow/Flash TV universe better than in the movies because there would be more time to do their origins. And the TV shows are campier which also fits.

If this rumor is true it will basically be DC/WB version of Ant-man & The Wasp.

Ant-man & The Wasp are completely different....
