Alan Tudyk Would Play BLUE BEETLE If It Meant Working With Nathan Fillion As BOOSTER GOLD
Alan Tudyk has claimed he'd be interesting in starring in that rumored Booster Gold/Blue Beetle movie - so long as it meant re-uniting with his longtime friend and Firefly & Con Man co-star Nathan Fillion.
One of comics' best bromances meets one of television's greatest working relationships! Recently, a rumor sprung up about the existence of a Booster Gold/Blue Beetle movie in development at Warner Bros. While we've heard no official word about it since, the project was said to be a buddy cop movie of sorts - a more light-hearted tale set in the world of the DCEU.
Accurate or not, these reports sparked a wave of fan-casting on social media - the most popular of which involved re-uniting Firefly alums Nathan Fillion and Alan Tudyk as Michael Carter and Ted Kord respectively. Two months ago, the former claimed he'd love to star as the cocky, time-travelling superhero, and now his longtime friend has thrown his hat into the ring to feature alongside him.
Speaking to Comicbook.com at NYCC, Tudyk expressed an interest in the movie, despite having heard nothing about it or Fillion's interest. "Well that's great. If it's working with Nathan, I'm in," he claimed, "Also, being a bug for me? I’d like that. Roly-poly is nice. I’d like to be one of them. That’s what we called them back in Texas, but they’re almost a beetle."
Obviously this isn't confirmation about anything, but it's exciting to hear he's interested in the role. Many had either Tudyk or Fillion pegged to star in Ant-Man, but their age likely ruled them out of contention. Would it get in the way here, or are you interested in the prospect of two older, comedic leads headlining a DCEU movie? We know they've got the chemistry! Sound off below!
Who knows? Maybe Joss Whedon would jump ships to direct...
