Gal Gadot & Chris Pine Feature In New WONDER WOMAN Set Pics; WW1 Setting Confirmed
Filming on Wonder Woman is in full swing, and director Patty Jenkins & stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine and Ewan Bremner were all spotted shooting in Essex this weekend. But the biggest news? We finally have confirmation over the movie's heavily rumored World War 1 setting!
Principal photography on Wonder Woman officially began just over a week ago, and we found out just who else would be joining stars Gal Gadot & Chris Pine in the hotly anticipated DCEU movie. Now, the pair have been spotted filming on the banks of the Thames in Essex. The Daily Mail have released a number of set photos that show the two stars in decked out in military threads and - above all else - confirm the movie's widely rumored World War 1 era setting.
How do we know this? The second photo below shows a British propaganda poster with the words "Your King and country need you, enlist now". These posters were widely used between 1914-18 to rally troops for the first World War. the "French money exchanged" sign seen below suggests these are troops returning from fighting in France, historically placing the film at the end of the war. Not bad eh? They don't call me the world's greatest detective for nothing!*
*No one calls me this.
Gadot & Pine's co-star Ewan Bremner also was present on set (sporting a very fierce mustache), and appears to be playing a British military officer. Naturally, director Patty Jenkins was on hand to oversee things, and you'll probably spot her as well below!
Starring Gal Gadot as 'Diana Prince/Wonder Woman', Chris Pine as 'Captain Steve Trevor', Robin Wright, Danny Huston, David Thewlis, Ewen Bremner, Saïd Taghmaoui, Elena Anaya and Lucy Davis and directed by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman hits theatres June 23, 2017.
