It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.

The Dark Knight Rises opens in theaters July 20th. The film stars Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Joseph Gordon Levitt and Marion Colltiard.

I've wondered about the climbing of the rock wall... Is that tied to the prison-looking area with all the steps everywhere?

@Catwoman1:

That's the only exit to the underground prison where Bruce is held captive; I read that in an interview a little back.

@stealthboy

Looks that way, some reports even suggest the prison might be located in India, but I'm not sure myself.

@MrReese exactly instead of rebooting batman in 2 years because it might seem like a sequel i said have mos clark kent come to gotham and investigate after bane's destruction then have lex luthor first appearance in this if he's not in mos and have a new villain rise

i count like 8 monitors in that last picture. one of those monitors is probably hooked to a system that is leaking the movie.

Catwoman1@ They're both bald. Can't be coincidence. Bane is bald as a child, Talia is bald as a child. Here's my take on what Nolan has in store for us:
Bane is locked away to serve time on behalf of his father. His and Talia's mother are killed. Talia goes on the run, moving from town to town, always changing her name. She brings Bane to Gotham to finish their father's work and suitably "punish" the Batman.

@MCUFan1 sorta like a continuation? I like that.I guess 4 that 2 happen tho we have 2 wait n c if Bruce makes it out alive come the 20th. ;) It could also be the other way around if u think about it it,have Bruce go 2 Metropolis.A cameo in MoS 2 would be very much welcomed.I mean he doesn't even have to be in the Batsuit at all.Just plain Bruce Wayne say on a "business trip" looking into Lex or what not.Or he's having dinner with Lois & Lois introduces Clark 2 Bruce.They shake hands exchange a few words & move on 2 the next scene.

@MrReese i like that if only nolan was up to the challenge i mean he's directed a trilogy and he's producing mos it still could be in his realistic world we all know he can do it and its original sorta and that would be alot of talk about it

I cannot see a Justice League movie being on the same level as Nolan's Batman films... I think one of the reasons I personally (and many others like me) enjoy only the Batman films (and not any of the other comic book movies) is the fact that it's based in our reality. There are no supernatural powers at work, so it's all completely relatable (well, within reason). I honestly think that's of of the reasons Nolan's Batman films have been so critically successful.

By bringing Superman into the mix, you immediately have a supernatural element.

All just my humble opinions, of course.

@stealthboy you gotta point but in reality superman is an alien so it wouldn't really be supernatural
