Over at IGN, they've got an article on David E. Kelly's press tour for his new show Harry's Law at the Television Critics Association. While there, he discussed the potential future of the Wonder Woman TV show he had written for Warners. Although all the networks passed on picking the show up, he still remains hopeful that it will grace the small screen.
Why he thought the show may not have been picked up:
It's a huge project and we just sort of rolled it out last week, so it was a bit much to chew off for this next season.
On whether he thought the show would eventually get picked up:
I think everybody is confident that we're gonna see it.
When asked about his take on the character:
It's just too complicated. It's just too complicated to categorize in a sentence. But that was the most fun thing about it for me, was complicating the character and trying to probe a lot of the human dimension of the character and not just the super hero.
And finally on whether he will go back to work on it now that Harry's Law has wrapped:
Probably. But it's kind of in Warners and DC's hands now to push that uphill.
I for one loved Boston Legal, and am curious as to how he plans to adapt
Wonder Woman to the small screen.
Update: The Hollywood Reporter also spoke to David E. Kelly about the
Wonder Woman TV series.
I think the likelihood is we'll see it next year. ... I'm being optimistic but I don't think I'm being unrealistic
He also mentions the possibility of the show heading to cable.
