PS3 Players of Arkham Asylum Will Get A Special Surprise Character

This will put a smile on your face!

Batman's maniacal archnemesis the Joker will be available as a free download for owners of the PlayStation 3 version of Arkham Asylum.

If you've ever wanted to roam Gotham's streets as The Joker, now's your chance. Owners of the PS3 version of Batman: Arkham Asylum will be able to download the character for free on the game's release date, June 23. While you won't be able to play as The Joker in the game's main storyline, the character will be available for Challenge Maps in the game (no details yet on what Challenge Maps are, but we imagine they will take advantage of The Joker's comical variety of skills).

There is no word yet on whether the Xbox 360 version will also have an exclusive character. I wouldn't mind reeking havic as Bane, or Harley Quinn.

I agree, someone find out what 360 owners will get, cause we always do. It's usually PS3 that gets snubbed on DLC, which is why I replaced my old 360 with a new one instead of going PS3(which I very seriously considered, mostly due to the Blue-ray player)

I checked Myth, they haven't said yet. I wish this was coming out for Wii.

Thats awesome news. JOKER = Ps3 ...Superb.

I have the 60GB PS3...But I'm switching the [HDD] Harddrive with a 500GB to my PS3. Yeah, most of you are wondering what the f*ck do you need all that SPACE for, well Playstation does gaurantee at least 10 years of gaming. Eventually, that will build up. Plus, my 60GB has already filed up, I had to start deleting things.

I'm happy over this news, not a fan of microsoft anymore, specially for what they did to their fans.
PS3 kicks GayBOX 3-SHITTY's ass anyday.

Myth, it was the blue-ray that swung me to the PS3, I sat waiting with just my PC for gaming until the HD/Blue-ray battle was over. There's pros and cons to each console but gaming is pretty much identical on both if your honest about it, so it was this that held the deciding factor for me.

Is it ONLY available for free on the release date?

crime-alley is a challenge map that i'm pretty sure they have confirmed in an interview somewhere along the line. I think i may have read about it in IGN. but i think that might also be exclusive to the 360.

These are additions to my post:

You can't keep something like this to PS3 and not allow Xbox to ever get it. I'm sure PS3 will just have a month or so exclusivity and then Xboxers will get their hands on it. I'm a PS3 man myself so I don't care! Ha!

But I need to know - Is it ONLY available for free on the release date?

Well, If you just bought a 360...return it...its suppose to DROP another 50 dollars lol....or maybe a 100...same with ps3 lol

Microsoft's 360 wont be around much longer....720 is suppose to hit end of 2011 or beginning of 2012, i believe. THey wont have Blu-ray on it..thats for sure. PHilips and Sony hold the rights to that. I wonder how thats gonna play out?

The reason I bought it is it was only $100, new, with harddrive and wireless controller. :)

I can deffenetly live without bluray. Its not worth the money to have that extra feature on it.

@THEHAWK The graphics look too good for wii. :(

ps3 vs. xbox is pretty much deciding bluray vs. xbox live.

live wins IMHO.

PS3 in a far superior to the 360 in everyway. I own both, if its on both systems i get it on PS3 because the game will never get scratched (blu-ray disc) for the same price. i can also download HD movies and shows, surf the web (like i am here) and the service is FREE! Don't get me wrong i love my 360 but i only have it for 360 exclusives. GTA 4 is getting content as well this spring.

what i hate about the PS controllers is that they are too soft and feel a bit limp to be honest. This is great news !

the only real difference here is that the DLC for the ps3 is ussally free. I think Two-Face would be cool to play as for the 360. just my opinion.

Yeah, and if MJ did rape you, you probably could get a crap load of sympathy dates.

And yes we NEED a playable Alfred, his main attack would be...The Feather Duster

ThunderCougarFalconBird - 4/28/2009, 5:21 AM
sirbonesalot - Ok, so that's not all I'm going to say about it!

It certainly took the heat out of your Heath comment! I'll probably get more stick for this.....

Personally I thought Heath was brilliant but not AS good as everyone is making out. I've spoken to many people about it (both comic fans and not) and we all come to the same conclusion. His portrayal of the Joker was near perfection but did he really "re-invent" the character? No. Did he do anything amazingly different? No. When you think of the Joker (before TDK) you think of the same personality Heath gave. He didn't do half of what people credit him for but what he did do was bring us the Joker we wanted in a performance well worth his Oscar.

Now sell my ass to Jackson!
