Dan Aykroyd Cautious About Ghostbusters 3

Dan Aykroyd gives us a brief status report on the sequel.
According to IGN, Dan Aykroyd was a guest Wednesday night on the radio program Coast to Coast AM with George Noory on L.A.'s KFI AM 640 where the actor gave a brief update on Ghostbusters 3.

Aykroyd advised Noury that screenwriters Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg are currently "hacking out a first draft" and that Sony is enthusiastic about the project. Although he gave the impression that Ghostbusters 3 was far from a go project, Aykroyd did say that for the first time in years it seems closer to a reality than it's ever been and that both the cast and studio are all eager to finally make it happen.

Aykroyd didn't divulge anything further on the project than that, but his cautious tone made it seem like it wasn't as much of a certainty as it was before the summer release of Harold Ramis' flop Year One (also scripted by Stupnitsky & Eisenberg) when Aykroyd, Ramis and even Bill Murray were all busy talking it up. Aykroyd even suggested this past spring that GB3 could begin filming by the end of this year.

Thanks to IGN for the info.

lol great pic lee. I for one don't think we should have the option to play god, or king, with comments. Nothing against you Ozzy, you've never edited me before, but it just seems like it can be abused to easily.

Great news about Aykroyd, I love that guy. I met him at patriot liquors over the summer, he was promoting a new wine of his, and he said something similar. Good find.

GB3 info always makes me sad, i am a true blue ghosthead but after so many years waiting i feel like i get blue ball'd after every bit of "news"...

Boogie138 - 10/30/2009, 1:21 PM
If Bill Murray isn't in the trailers,I'll consider that a red flag that it's gonna suck.

I PUT IT TO EVERYONE, REBOOT GHOSTBUSTERS?...OR...BRING THE ORIGINALS BACK?
GUNSMITH - 10/29/2009, 10:58 PM

@Gunsmith.

I say neither.

The original cast is too old. A reboot or re-vision is lame.

I agree with George Castanza:

End it on a high note..

( Even though GB 2 wasnt that high of a note.)

This is what Im talking about anyway..

Follywood cant come up with ANY Original ideas, so they keep Re boot-Hashing-Re-trying anything they can cuz why?.......

THEY ARE CREATIVELY BANKRUPT!!!!

They keep turning to comic book material for good story lines. (which is OK with me). cuz its full of Differentness than Most of the Crap out there.

We can debate what passes for Crap later.

Also,
The idea of Re doing anything (i;e A team, Ghostbusters, Green Hornet Transformers, ((although with Transformers, the technology didnt really exist until recently to make an effective movie like that))Or for most movies now-a-days for that matter (i;e, Ironman, LOTR, etc)
A revisiting the 80s (and 60s in some cases)to me, shows the creative black hole that exists in Follywood.
But, It is capitalism, and the studios want to make $$$
so, when the other craptacular stuff they throw at us doesnt stick, they return to an era when things were original and story worthy. So for that I say "Good Luck".

Skyh00k Out!
