The latest trailer for the highly anticipated Iron Man 2 is now online and in HD; get a better look at Whiplash, Black Widow, War Machine and the Mark V briefcase armor!

For those of you who've been living under a rock for the past year, here's a brief synopsis of the film:

Robert Downey Jr. returns as Tony Stark, the wealthy playboy whose exploits as Iron Man are now public knowledge after his admission at the close of the first film. In the follow-up, Stark is pitted against his Russian arch nemesis, Whiplash (Mickey Rourke), and corporate rival Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell). Also making their Marvel debuts are Scarlett Johansson as the Russian spy Black Widow, and Don Cheadle, who takes over the role of Colonel James Rhodes/War Machine.

This second trailer for the Iron Man sequel gives us a better understanding of Ivan/Whiplash's relationship with Tony Stark rival Justin Hammer; the introduction of Natalia/Black Widow into Stark's business circle; the War Machine 'reveal' at the Stark Expo (plus the military combat bots); and how Stark manages to turn a suitcase into an Iron Man suit.

wow, that suitcase suit is awesome!
Also, even though we still haven't seen it, this trailer definitively puts to bed the notion that all we get is the pit crew whip lash.

OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! OMG! WOW! WOW! WOW! WOW! WOOOOOOOOOOOOW! That has to be the best movie trailer that I have seen in a long time. I mean, I was blown away. My jaw dropped, almost, instantly. Iron Man and War Machine sparing at the boxing ring, was epic. The briefcase armor was much more awesome than I thought it would be. I just wish that we would have heard Natlia speak.
We just have a day less than 2 months, left. I hope to be able to see it at back-to-back showings.

i am so hyped for this film i cannot even describe it.
i was literally shaking after i viewed the trailer.
i was THAT giddy.

and i think i figured out the plot line for the arc reactor.
if you look at the trailer between 1:17 and 1:25 you will notice Stark testing what appears to be a laser weapon on a triangle engraving. but the laser appears to be hooked up to a medium size arc reactor. i think he's experimenting and upgrading because his old reactor is giving him problems as seen in the first trailer.

btw, look out for my Spider-man Reboot Part 2 within the next two days. it's really coming together.

oh, that sucks meylar. I used to have dial up too, sucked so much. dont get me wrong dude, I like kimmel but he hasn't been as funny since he and adam left the man show. they had real good comedic chemistry.

oh yeah about the trailer: oh hell yeah, we got to see what the suitcase suit looks like. I like how it looks like a skimmed down version of the other armors instead of a complete one.

and now we know for sure that hammer and whiplash work together, so rourke might still be crimson dynamo as well. he could make those bulkier automated suits for hammer and make a more streamlined version for himself. and it would be kind of poetic that way, whiplash trying to beat stark at his own game (or rather beat him at the game he invented and tony's dad stole).

I think Black Widow steals the Mark II and delivers it to the US Government. That's who was in the suit when he knocked it into the boxing ring. I think Whiplashes final armor is going to something that the Mark VI and War Machine will have to face off against.

Side note: I think all the Combat bots (Army, Navy and Air Force prototypes) were introduced at the same expo that Tony landed in, and War Machine was suppose to be Tony's good will project to the US Gov't. Hammer probably want's to get even and with Whiplashes help, build better prototypes and sends them after Tony and Rhodes.

Just my thoughts after seeing that awesome trailer.

I seriously could not feel my feet & hands while watching this, and I literally got up and had to walk it off when I seen Black Widow spin around the guy.

Pure bad-ass. Iron Man 2 has just past Thor for which film I'd rather see, at least for now.

@Wadey: I was talking about when he hit Rhodes with the weights while they were in armor. At least, that's what it looked like. lol

Now, um, did anyone else notice him telling the judge that he and Iron Man are one in the same, or something? I mean, that kinda points to why he would do Extremis.
