Iron Man 2 Behind the Scenes Video May Hint at Crimson Dynamo Armor

Check out this video to see several possible armors for Iron Man 2; could one of them belong to Whiplash?

Last month, Sideshow Collectibles released a video featuring Legacy Effects co-founder, John Rosengrant; in which he discusses Legacy's involvement with the film.

The video opens with a nice display of the Iron Man 2 collectibles Sideshow will carry and goes on to showcase the full-sized armors used for the movie's production.




Now, onto the speculative part. Below you'll find several screencaps from the video. Each hint at an armor or robot that could very well be in the film. Could one of them be the final version of Whiplash's armor, the Crimson Dynamo?

* A couple of astute users have proven that several of these images couldn't possibly be for Iron Man 2, so what of the rest?

TYLER: I watched it again a month or so ago! COmepletely agree man! It's probably my favourite CBM above Watchmen and The Dark Knight!

ANIL: Yeah, that was one hell of an ending! RDJ saying "I am Iron Man" followed by the characters theme tune was an epic way to end the movie! :) Did you read the 4 part Iron Man vs. Whiplash series? If so, what did you think?

he said mark six .. is that the suit with triangle chest plate... the suit case armour is mark 5 i thought.. what is mark 4 or havent they shown that yet .

i take it the mark six .. as he sid in the interveiw will be the extremis..or am i wrong .. am watching ironman 1 now ... 3 suits in this film ..the breifcase is mark 5 .. what is dif from mark 3 ....to ..4 ..any1

@ngu, the mark 4 is the one we see him in in most of the trailers. Slightly upgraded from the mark 3 which got a little thrashed in the battle with Iron Monger at the end of the first movie. Pretty sure you're right Mark 5 is the suitcase armor and Mark 6 is Extremis (or just "triangle armor" if they don't go the Extremis route).

looks like we're near the confirmation of Mickey Rourke's own armor... =)

Good find MPP. I speculate that the grey armor next to the commentator (right of the screen) was probably a glimpse of the final Whiplash armor. Just a tease. If anyone recognizes it from another movie let us know.

Also, I think the Mark IV will introduce the solar power technology (gold trim). Just my thoughts...

@JJMeylar: i think in Russia it means friend, often used by Colossus, and even by Kamen Rider Amazon (though he's not Russian), it's like "mein freund" in German, pften used by Nightcrawler (i hope i got the right spelling).

I was thinking the same thing about the suit behind the commentator. I see some Terminator 3 props, Predator but that suit looks very Iron Manis. Crimson Red 4 sure.

that one in the back reminds me of the T-1 from Terminator 3.
i know its blasphemous to even mention that film but i am inclined to do so. and that last pic looked like some Predator armor of some sort. i even believe i saw the Lake Placid croc on there as well.
i don't think Marvel wants to reveal Whiplash's suit just yet.

@rastaZen 100% fella, i pointed this out in the first IM2 trailer as it shows it on a table with folk working on it but no one else has picked up on it barring yourself........would love it if they brought ultron into the mix for the avengers movie :D

Ummm... I don't think ANYTHING in this video even comes close to talking about or hinting at Whiplash going full armor. It makes sense that it'll happen considering he has Hammer's resources to create something much more powerful then his suit we've all seen, but nothing in this feature is giving us what we want...

The 2nd and 3rd pictures, the circled armors are from Terminator 3, when they go to the Skynet headquarters...
