Red is a film adaptation of the comic book mini-series published between 2003 and 2004 and created by writer Warren Ellis and artist Cully Hamner. It follows the story of Frank Moses (Bruce Willis), a former black-ops CIA agent who is now living a quiet, secluded life. That is, until the day a hi-tech assassin shows up intent on killing him. With his identity compromised and the life of the woman he cares for, Sarah (Mary-Louis Parker), endangered, Frank reassembles his old team (Morgan Freeman, John Malkovich and Helen Mirren) in a last ditch effort to survive. The film also stars Ernest Borgnine, Brian Cox, Richard Dreyfus, John Malkovich, Julian McMahon, Karl Urban and James Remar. After two months of production in Toronto, Canada, the cast and crew moved to New Orleans, LA where they have just finished filming.
Over the past few days, the comic's co-creator Cully Hamner has been updating his website and Twitter account with tidbits from the set; one of which is a first look at the logo being used during production. Here are the photo and feed:
Here's the message from Hamner's website; in which he seems very grateful to have such a capable crew handling his work:
"Day 2 On The Set Of RED...
Man, today was a long day, but I was introduced to John Malkovich, Mary Louise Parker, and Karl Urban; got to casually chat here and there with Bruce Willis, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, and director Robert Schwentke, all very pleasant guys, along with tons of really nice folks with the production; had a long conversation with Willis' stunt double, Stuart, who's a fascinating guy; sat for interviews w/ foreign press and DVD people; and just generally made note of the fact that feature film crews work really, really hard."
