Several eagle-eyed comic fans have spotted the title of DC's next animated film on the back cover of the Amazon.com Exclusive Blu-Ray edition of Batman: Under the Red Hood.

"First Look: Superman/Batman: Apocalypse - Exclusive Sneak Peak at DC Universe's Next Original Animated Movie"

Recent internet chatter revolves around the assumption the title itself may hint at the debut of either Darkseid or Supergirl. There is no official word from Warner Bros. entertainment which comics story line the movie will follow, if any. This will be the fourth animated film highlighting a Superman and Batman team-up. Speculation as to this latest film's plot will be put to rest come July 27th, 2010, when Batman: Under the Red Hood becomes available for purchase.

DC Entertainment has two animated short films already planned, Jonah Hex and Green Arrow, which will accompany their full length features. There is also a rumored Batman: Year One adaptation in the works.

Woah! I guess they are determined to keep on rolling with the Supes/Bats. But as long as they maintain their quality I can't complain too much.

I don't know if I can ever get tired of Batman and Superman, but yeah Poni, I know what you mean. Let's explore the rich tapestry that is the DC Universe to it's fullest potential. I'll bet once the live action Flash movie gets closer we'll probably get our Flash animated movie.

@DCfan89-Probably not. Bruce Timm has just been recycling old Batman/Superman episodes that feature similar characters or storylines to the current animated movies. It's just a little bonus he puts on the dvds.

I have no problem with the next Superman/Batman movie. I just wish DC would open their flood gate and let their other Characters have a chance for their own Movie debut. There are thousands of other Characters that could choose from.. SHEESH.

more, more, more. make more superman/bats movies, more other character movies, flash, greenlantern, etc., all are good for us CBM fans, as long as they continue to be well made as most other DC animated films i will be more then happy to watch and enjoy.

I'll take it.

But I do agree, it's time to expand the catalog a bit. Love Bats and Supes but this is getting a bit stale.

sweet! i am sure we will be getting a justice league animated film soon. i am sure many of you have seen crisis on two earths, the jl was in the beginning stages. i love dcs' animated movies, just wish they would do live action with the same effort. i am a marvel fan first but want to see dc succeed for the simple fact it raises the bar for marvel.

I would love to see DC animation do Swamp Thing and base it on the Anatomy Lesson or the 2 part story where ST goes to Rosewood and destroy a bunch of underwater vampires!!!

How about Phantom Stranger, some Elseworlds Batman like Gotham by Gaslight, Zatanna even? These they'll probably do as shorts if they ever get them done.

Really???? Why do we need ANOTHER Superman/Batman movie.....we should've gotten a Flash movie, or just about any other character, about four movies ago..

i'm totally okay with this!
i'm enjoying the hell outta DC animated titles!
regardless of what it is,
they keep bringing the solid animation
with fluid storylines
or is it the other way around?
eh, rock me sexy jesus.

DoctorShmoo- Swamp Thing would have been orgazmic!!! But so far, i don't feel DC has the right animation style to do it justice. If they hired the team that did Akira or Princess Mononoke, now that would look astonishing!!!

wow, another batman/superman tag team event! weren't we just making the point the other day about DC not giving other characters time to shine? I, personally have no problem with another batman movie, just wish they'd have made others for the first time, in between. I know they did wonder woman, and green lantern, but what about green arrow, lobo, martian manhunter, flash, etc.

Also, if it's so obvious that this duo works, then why is hollywood so reticent to make a live action version?

If Multi is correct, that Supes/Bat teamup was a good story and should make for a fine movie, BUT....

here we go again! Always Superman and/or Batman. Reminds me of the king from the Bugs Bunny cartoon with the hasenpfeffer (Shish-Ka-Bugs).... "every day the same thing! variety! I want something different!" DC has a rich and diverse group of characters and teams that do NOT include those two. Why can't we see some of THOSE guys get a movie? I'd like to see the Flash get a feature. Or the Teen Titans, especially if we could see a proper retelling of the Judas Contract. Why not a GL/Green Arrow teamup- some of the classic O'Neill/Adams stuff? Others mention the Martian Manhunter- he'd be good too.
