Zac Efron, "I'm a huge, HUGE comic book fan"

Zac Efron, "I'm a huge, HUGE comic book fan"

Check out a short video clip of Zac talking comics. With a taste of the Image Comics adaption "Fire", maybe he's hinting at his interest of other comic book movies to the masses.

Zachary David Alexander "Zac" Efron (born October 18, 1987) an American actor and singer. He began acting professionally in the early 2000s, and became known to young audiences after his roles in the Disney Channel Original Movie High School Musical, the Warner Bros. series Summerland, and the 2007 film version of the Broadway musical Hairspray. In 2007, right before the release of High School Musical 2, Rolling Stone declared him the "poster boy for tweenyboppers" and featured him in their late August 2007 issue.

So is Zac interested in other comic book movies, with this spy project "Fire" & "Johnny Quest," plus this other manga adaption he's talking about in the video, is he a die-hard fan or does he want certain bigger comic book projects (or both), you decide.

Thanks to MTV RC for the video.

LEEE777 - I've not yet seen Me and Orson Welles so can't comment on that, i have got to say though he was good in 17 Again. Comments, thoughts below.

He is a big fan according to Bendis. I'm sure he wants to do comic book/manga projects because it would be fun for him but also it is a good move careerwise.

There's a video of him talking about the different manga he's read and in particular Death Note which everyone ties him to because he looks like Light.

And he talked to Frosty at Collider about the Death Note film project which I guess he's had a meeting on.

I have a question.Is there any actor that isn't comicbookfan?All the time I hear:
I like comics.
Also he said:
I don't know, there's to many(comics,manga).
When someone reads comics, he has a favorite comic.I don't believe him that he have read any comic or manga.

I don't think he's BS-ing about being a fan. He really has nothing to gain from lying about that. I think he's exaggerating about being a "huge,huge comic book fan" though. He probably read some stuff and doesn't keep up with it anymore.

I think he is playing to the audience. That doesn't mean he shouldn't play anything, but that he knows what's marketable. I'm going to throw Elijah Wood's name in there for Spidey. I know he's a bit older, but he'll look 13 forever. Plus, I think he's a genuine nerd and a great actor. It's a long shot but just thinking out loud.

@Brazilianbatman

It's ok to like the comic book characters and are a fan of them, but you can't say you are a comic book fan if you have never read a comic. I really urge you to read comic books; trust me if you pick up the right one you will be hooked.

One question, why does this faggot get an article on this otherwise awesome site (and I was talking about Zac, not the awesome LEEE). Zac Efron is one of these pretty-boy actors who has no acting ability and if I ever see him in a comic book movie (if it ever happens, it will probably be a Fox movie lol), I will [frick]ing rage!

Good Cast!! I've never seen the High School musicals but he was in 17 Again, and I'd think he could definitely, pull off a nerdy high school science geek turn, super powered jock with a smart mouth. He's a lot better looking than Toby Maquire and more likable.

Grif _ I was the same as you

I was NEVER a Zach Efron fan ... I never saw the shitty high school musical movies even though i have teenage neices and a nephew who talked about those movies... I actually saw that movie going on 17 because there was nothing else to watch on the plane from greece... I have to say he impressed me he was actually really good ... I can see this kid doing some Comic Book movies ... Especially since he is a comic fan... Why not ... he is actually talented

Enough with these Nickelodeon, cardboard cutout, borderline ghey actors. Whoever that is please stay the hell away from any comic character. When did society become so sissified?

@brazilianbatman

well it depends on what you are into. If you are a fan of batman, the you are gonna want to go with batman year one and the long Halloween as good starter graphic novels. Actually both of those are considered to be some of the best batman graphic novels out there. Another good one for batman would be the killing joke by Alan Moore. It's a little short in my opinion but it gives good insight into the joker and has a really flippin' awesome story.

its kind of hard for me to say anything about other superheroes because i mostly read batman and basically anything by vertigo.
