So according to "Sneak Peek" blog they've started and writer/director Michael J. Bassett (Solomon Kane) is there too at the helm.

Movie will be in 3D and the producer is Don Carmody (Resident Evil).

For years, Heather Mason and her father have been on the run, always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t fully understand. Now on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by terrifying nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she's not who she thinks she is. LEEE777 - I personally think that Silent Hill is the best video game adaptation to date from Hollywood and can't wait to see the sequel, how about you?

@leee agreed silent hill 1 was far better than all the other video game movies hollywood and uve bole have put out, hope this one dont suck

Kristen Bell or Teresa Palmer for the role of Heather..and yeah, Silent Hill is the best video game movie ever..better than all Resident Evil movies put together..

That movie creeped me out. I live by 3 Mile Island, and we have those alert sirens that go off every once in a while for testing. Every time I still hear it I yell, "THE DARKNESS IS COMING!!" And I promptly wait for the walls to peel their paint and all that goopy gross stuff to happen. Thank God it doesnt happen.

I'm just glad that there will be a part 2. It was announced back in 2007. That's a long wait. By the sound of it, it should be even better than the first.

This movie is the best video game adaptation that hollywood have ever done. I hope this sequel is at least half as good as the first and ill be happy. Seriously though Hollywood take some notes.

This is probably going to be some straight to DVD bullshit (in terms of quality). Most sequels that have a completely new director, actors, and story sucks.


But yeah the first silent hill was awesome!

man this movie took way too long. wondering how it will tie into the first film... is this a direct sequel or a thematic one? bullpoop online sources have conflicting information and truth be told stopped following this one for a bit.

but just rewatched the first one and interest renewed

Silent Hill 1 paved the way for true survival horror games - not like RE where it became a monotonous zombie-fest. I loved both franchises when it came out, but to be honest, Silent Hill was a LOT scarier than RE

Wow.. So, Silent Hill was the best video game adapation to ever grace our... nightmares? Lol, true, indeed. The way this one is looking seems it's going to follow the same path as the first. Not to mention that girl is a dead ringer for the main character in the game. Aaaah, joysam.

im excited i cant begin to explain how dissapointed i was they didnt use the Silent Hill 2 Game as the basis for this one, hopefully they use it as the basis for 3 but i agree best video game to film adaptation ever.
