Doctor Who was completely redone for the 21st century by the BBC, bringing the show back in 2005 after its cancellation in 1989. The Ninth Doctor (Christopher Eccleston) came and conquered and died saving the universe and his companions from the cursed Daleks. Regenerating for the ninth time, the Tenth Doctor (David Tennant) brought more secrets and dark sides of this universe. Past, Present, Future and beyond! After regenerating to once again save the life of a trusted companion, the Doctor (Matt Smith) is now on his eleventh incarnation. With new friends Amy Pond (Karen Gillian) and Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill), a newly revamped TARDIS inside and out, the Doctor is ready for more adventures in time and space.

@jazzman - There were two movies made in the 1960s with Peter Cushing in the role and one made-for-TV movies in '96 with Paul McGann as The Doctor and Eric Roberts as The Master.

Number21 @ Yeah, I've seen that on TV once, wouldn't mind a DVD tho!

Yeah I wasn't a fan really till it came back out in 2005, same goes for Star Trek, only the movies with that one! Never really liked either of the old series much.... Still I've been watching some lately so I suppose I do like 'em lol.

no way are the bbc going to sell the awesomeness that is doctor who especially as it has been one of their highest rated shows since they brought it back i think a yank version would culminate in the end of the world from sheer despair Doctor who is quintessentially British Sci fi show stay away fox!

Never was a really huge DR. WHO fan... I watched a few episodes back in the 70's when Tom Baker played the Doctor other than that I never really had much interest in the series. " YOU BYTCHES ARE BASTARDS"!
