I'm still not sold on this series. I get the whole teenage dynamic they are going with, but I will stick with the Avengers with their light hearted fun and action

I have to admit, this show slaps up Avengers in the animation and writing department, HUGE.

No question.

Both good shows, but YJ takes the cake overall.

I like EMH over YJ mainly for one thing....EASTER EGGS. Watching just one episode there is a ton of fan service to be seen. They also did a better job promoting the series with those Micro Episodes. DC did this many times before, where they use a name of something popular and edit it down like crazy. Remember Superman: Doomsday the comic and then the animated feature...not quite the same now is it? Emerald Knights the animated movie is gonna be vignettes rather than the great comic from the 90s. Why couldn't they just take the comic series of young justice and make it that. Also them boasting to have 160 DC characters in this show is way to ambitious, since theres one set we will not see, Wonder Woman or Wonder Girl, since their license is totally out there and has strange requirements. I'll take fun action over teenage angst any day

EMH is so way better then this show, and i mean way! yes i watch both, but EMH is just way more fun to watch and i always have a smile on my face when its over. this show is ok i watch it because i love comic book cartoons as much as the next guy, YJ is getting better then when it started, super boy is being alittle less emo but you still now he is. id be happy if it was just aqualad and kid flash, and thats just sad. your welcome

SOAL!!!

@WarRocketAjax dude I agree with your 100%, the only good Marvel series judging from the year 2000 upwards that even lasted past its 2nd season is Xmen Evolution(which was a great show), since then all their series have all been failures which got canceled.
and the ones which had something good going from them, as decent series that loved like Wolverine and the Xmen and Spectacular Spiderman also got canceled for one reason or another(poor management of their products on marvel's Part).
SO I WILL SAY IT IS A FACT! that DC is leading in the animated series arena. and they also have better character designs that the Marvel animated series.(partially referring to EMH. Damm I hate those ugly character designs and animation style on a whole)

this is a great show. i like EMH as well but i think this is much better in animation and story telling. plus avengers has that god awful opening song.

@weneedrevelation yeah I know I used to watch those(as a matter of fact all of them) on tv as a kid, hence the reason I said "judging from the year 2000 upwards" I cant compare nor trash the old 90s Marvel series those were my childhood there and forever will remain great and classical in my mind.

the comparisons do get old, but it happens. The fact of the matter is EMH is good for "good, light hearted fun", ages 16 and down and is generally safe for the kids. I dont see much teen angst in Young Justice, other than Superboy's schizo azz....YJ is better animated, better action sequences, voiced acted and scripted and not dumbed down. Marvel and DC books both are written for the crowd that is typically a bit older and more intelligent or savvy than the crowd the comics were written for way back in the day, which was kids basically. Where DC chooses to aim its animation and the same core audience that reads the books, Marvel is choosing to aim there animation at an audience that is not the same audience that reads their books. Its cool for that demographic, but puberty for me ended along time ago....so EMH is just too playskool for me....hell, the theme song is enuff to turn me off. JY...no corny theme, just a score and lets get to business.

@ weneedrevelation I thought Spectacular Sopiderman was 100% better but that doesnt matter because Batman tha animated series and the new Batman adventures was the best animated series EVER! Bruce Timm, Kevin Conroy, Mark Hamill and Arleen Sorkin FTW!!! actually, ALL the voice casting was awesome, from Penguin and Riddler to Two-Face and Harvey Bullock haha

@Thelastdalek "darker than Young Justice"...ha! I dont remember any scene from AEMH that i could compare as being as dark as what we have seen is Young Justice, that's a brave statement there.

Young Justice has a more realistic approach down to a level where you can appreciate the locations where the characters. Plus they actually used real guns sounds not the stupid laser fake thing to dull it down like in AEMH.

and explosives where people actually die like when Red Arrow blew up those armed men on the island there is no way on earth they could have survived that. and there was no cut scene to go back and show "those guys are already", to try and play it safe and say no one died like what most cartoons do these days. Plus i must commend their use of shadows(when a character is appearing or disappearing) to give the show a dark feel and the mystery surround the light.

Freshkicks1212 - 2/17/2011, 1:55 PM
@LoganX35 you're trashing a show because its aimed at teens and talking about it been winy. Yet you're watching a cartoon on DISNEY XD which was clearly aimed at a YOUNGER AUDIENCE.
Freshkicks1212
Freshkicks1212 - 2/17/2011, 1:59 PM
@Thelastdalek yes because AEMH has more episodes, but that aside i say Young Justice has a more darker feel with its whole covert theme.
