Fans Petition White House For FLASH APPRECIATION DAY
A new We the People petition asks Pesident Obama to declare February 11th as the national Flash Appreciation Day. Hit the jump to check it out.
The Season 2 episode of Justice League Unlimited, In “Flash and Substance,” which originally aired on Feb. 11, 2006, the Rogues team up and threaten to ruin Central City’s first “Flash Appreciation Day”. In honor of both the Scarlet Speedster and that episode, contributors to the blog Nothing But Comics have hatched the idea of a real life Flash Day.
The actual petition for has over 200 signatures and needs 100,000 by February 10, 2015.
DC Comics superhero the Flash debuted in Flash Comics #1 (January 1940). The character’s legacy is impressive, and the hero’s adventures continue today in comics and on television. The Flash uses his powers of super-speed in the cause of justice, and has provided positive inspiration to his many fans for the past 75 years.
We, the fans of the Flash, ask the President of the United States to declare February 11, 2015 “Flash Appreciation Day” in order to honor the character’s inspirational example and values.
