It recently came out that Zack Snyder brought Frank Miller, who wrote The Dark Knight Returns graphic novel which saw Batman beat Superman, to discuss the Man Of Steel sequel (in which Superman and Batman will face off).

Now a Superman Homepage source claims says he spoke to Zack Snyder yesterday, and put to him the concerns of some Superman fans, with Snyder saying, "It's too early for me to discuss the film. However, regardless of how I feel about Superman, ultimately I have to go along with the direction that Warner Bros. thinks is best".

So what do you guys think of this bit of news?

I don't get what he means.

What WBs thinks is best?

WBs greenlit Superman 4, Batman & Robin, & Green Lantern. Did they think that those 3 films for those 3 heroes were best for those heroes?

Riiiiight, during pre-production Snyder is going to throw the studio under the bus to some random guy not important enough to discuss the film with.

It could be true that the studio is forcing him one way or the other creatively. But he wouldn't say it. Fake source.

This always concerns me. The reason why I like these movies isn't per se because I get to see my favorite characters on screen, but because I get to see different filmmakers' distinctive takes on my favorite characters. I want to see del Toro's Hellboy, Raimi's Spider-Man, Nolan's Batman, Favreau and Black's different takes on Iron Man, Whedon's Avengers, and Snyder's Superman. I'd rather the studio just trust the creators to do the job they hired them to do, as opposed to forcing them to do the job a certain way.

If they are the ones that made the decision to not bring the Nolanverse into this, I'm going to be pissed.

Still waiting for an actual, viable reason for why it isn't happening.

@Blackjack

A lot can happen in two years dude. A lot of good or a lot of bad can happen. I don't think its a bad idea to be worried if Snyder has to go through with WBs vision.

Maybe WB didn't like Man of Steel's break-neck plot of David Goyer, they're worried that Superman might snap Batman's neck too. Still hoping the next installment should be good.

@banner

yup, no Justice League if Superman break's Batman's neck. That's why they want their hands on their precious property. Man of Steel was a big letdown.

Batman beating Superman in the universe they established in Man Of Steel makes no sense whatsoever, in TDKR Superman was a government puppet, Batman had Kryptonite and years of friendship with him to learn his every weakness.

In the Movies, they have never met, Superman has told the US military to take a flying shit...not in those words but still....oh and THERE IS NO KRYPTONITE!!!....

Already I dont want Batman to win but, but now it would just be [frick]ing ridiculous if he did....

I hope Warner will get a co-writer of sorts for Batman/Superman to pacify David Goyer's wild and sadistic imagination.

Well, considering Snyder said he thinks Superman would beat Batman in a fight, I'm assuming that this means Batman's going to beat Supes at one point in this movie.

Which explains a lot! Before MoS he was saying, and Cavill was for that matter, that before any other DC characters are introduced Superman should get a sequel.

Then this comes along!!!

All I would say is Zack, if your heart isn't in it: Walk away. Let someone who has a passion for getting these two characters on screen make the movie, there is no point in you doing it, if you are not 100% per cent behind the project.

Doesn't Marvel do the same with their directors, and writers they hire? Granted Marvel have a better streak then WB/DC but all studios do this.
