Will The Avengers Movie be Using Aspects of Upcoming Siege Comic Book Event?

Brian Bendis thinks fans of the upcoming movie should check out Marvel's next big event.

Bendis has been one of the main catalysts for the current Marvel universe. He says that all of the "event" stories of the past decade have been leading up to "Siege". Brian goes right for the jugular and starts the interview with a reference to the upcoming "Avengers" movie.

"For those hungry for the 'Avengers' movie — see what I'm doing here — this 'Siege' event will really whet your appetite," laughed Bendis.

It seems they might use some of the aspects of this event to carry over to the big screen.

"After all we've done to these heroes and all they've done to each other, what threat can be so big that it could possibly bring Captain America, Iron Man and Thor — the original Avengers — to fight alongside each other after everything's that happened?" Brian asked. "'Siege' is it."

"What's exciting is that these characters have not been playing together since well before I took over the Avengers,". "This is something you really haven't seen in a long, long time — and for some readers, they've never seen it. Some of the younger readers are still waiting to see what that feels like."

Of course, no event in the comics world would be complete without the promise of a brand new status quo when all the dust settles — a fact that the veteran creator didn't ignore.

"And I promise the Avengers and the Marvel universe will change dramatically... and never be the same again," he laughed. "Sorry, I had to say it. I'm contractually obligated to say that."

I'm thinking Avengers will be pushing 3 hours as a movie no matter which way they go. There is so much stuff to put in this movie:

Have to introduce Pyms
Need incident to bring these characters together
Have to spread screen time around or everyone will just get lost!

Dogs: There are still 3 movie that have yet to be released that could introduce us to the Pyms, or anybody for that matter.

Hell, they could even set up the main plot and start rounding up the Avengers.

@Hawks-That is true but it seems unlikely that we will see them in IM2. Thor would seem out of place and most of Cap is supposed to be in the past. While it would be good to get them going in one of these 3, I can't see much time devoted to them.

Good to have you back SHHH.

Siege is looking to be a LOT better than Secret Invasion.
If anyone from Marvel is reading this: PLEASE PUT HULK IN THE AVENGERS AND PLEASE KEEP EDWARD NORTON. DO IT FOR THE KIDS!

SIEGE #1 was awesome! Thor got his ass kicked but I can tell its finally gonna go down between our Thunder God and that little fruitcake, the Sentry. I said it like 2 months ago, Thors gonna kill him!

I just wanna see Ares chop off someone's head with his battle axe. I kinda like the Sentry and I don't know how I feel about Thor beating the sh1t out of him. Norman better have something MAJOR up his sleeve or it'll all be over before issue #3.
BTW: When we later find out that Norman's secret weapon is Odin... I called it!

@Della: Yeah SI sucked. They could kill off Mockingbird in the next issue of New Avengers for all I care. Where is Echo anyway? And that whole thing with the team of Marvel Heroes who were really skrulls but didn't know it. Yeah, not Bendis' best work. I was honestly a little dissapointed that people like Iron Man, Wolverine, and Spidy WEREN'T really skrulls. Then again, that was around the same time I was just getting back into comics, so maybe I would have liked it more if I was there for more of the pre-SI build up.
