A report has sprung out by the New York Daily News that Wesley Snipes will reprise his role as the Daywalker, Blade. It is said that he is going to get paid 3 million dollars plus a cut of the profits. Now, this report isn't confirmed by any of marvel sources, so it's best that we take it with a grain of salt. We also noted that Marvel Studios has gotten the rights back to Blade since there wasn't a film made in that long period of time, so at this point anything's possible. With that said this report should be taking slowly and if it does come to be true, it'll be great seeing Wesley suiting back up for Blade! Sound off below with your thoughts!

Blade is a 1998 American vampire-superhero-vigilante action film starring Wesley Snipes and Stephen Dorff, loosely based on the Marvel Comics character Blade. Snipes plays Blade, a human-vampire hybrid who protects humans from vampires. The film was directed by Stephen Norrington and written by David S. Goyer. Blade grossed $70 million at the U.S. box office, and $131.2 million worldwide. It was followed by two sequels, Blade II and Blade: Trinity, both written by Goyer.

I saw the first Blade and none of the sequels. I don't see what all the fuss was about with this franchise.

This is what we like to Grade A Bullshit.

I like the first two Blade movies, but those are almost 15 years old now.

Uhhm so wait?

Marvel acquired the rights to Blade but Wesley can still be in it?

Then it's simple get the rights to Spider-Man and keep Garfield.

@yossarian

Blade II is the greatest CBM of all time.

Nah I'd prefer a reboot.
Snipes is hardly the big star he was back in the day.

Let's have a fresh start now the rights are back with Marvel. It's a Sin City 2 thing, it's been 10 years since the last one, interest is gone unless they wanna reboot it.

I want to believe, the movies (bar the third one) were freakin' amazing.

@Giant - Really? People seem to love the first one and I saw it and kind of forgot about it on the way to the car. I will check out Blade 2 because you are recommending it. I guess I will have to if this is true and if these movie somehow become a weird step cousin to the MCU.

Original source is a tabloid -esque newspaper. Move along, nothing to see here.

the original article links to a newspaper citing "sources close to Snipes", meaning friends of his trying to help him make a buck.
Marvel wouldn't be stupid enough to try and bring movies from '98 into their continuity. That's their biggest draw, and it would make a mess of everything. not buying this.

I'm not sure this if this is BS or what. If anything they should do a Netflix series not a movie. I think Blade would fit right into a Defenders series.

@MarkJulian

Should i keep it as a rumor?
frova

I'm calling BS

No way Marvel Studios would use up one of their precious phase 3 release spots for Blade... They'd get a lot of backlash from fans if they put Blade in the MCU before Black Panther. If anything they'd add him to their Netflix roster along with Punisher if Defenders is successful
