Godzilla was officially revealed in Japan on June 26, 2014 with a trailer uploaded to YouTube by Bandai Namco Japan. However, magazine leaks of it began at at least June 23, 2014. At that time, the game was reported to be 40% complete. It is unknown if the game will be released in the United States, though the presence of the 2014 American Godzilla suggests it might. In late-mid-August, Japan's Famitsu magazine revealed the game will be released on December 18, 2014 in Japan, and on August 29, Bandai Namco released a second trailer for the game.

Looks like a better version of the trilogy Atari made. I was hoping it'd be better, but I'd still get it.

Already have this beauty preordered, can't wait to have it this December. Been following this game incredibly close, love the Tokusatsu effects and feel, so faithful and accurate just like the Toho films! Which is what the developers were going for, so this game succeeds wonderfully on that level. Same with the kaiju roster, gameplay, and unique mechanics like the Disaster Level, "Evolve Mechanic", Various abilities and attacks, and major boss battles! Can't wait to get my hands on GODZILLA(2014) and kick Hedorah's smog ass.

This game is for Godzilla fans like how Injustice Gods Among Us is for the DC fandom. So unless you're a hardcore fan, I doubt many of you will understand the visual presentation and gameplay direction that Bandai Namco Games are going for with this. Which is understandable in that case, of course.

Hah, everyone hating on this game for bad graphics has lost their minds. Games don't need good graphics to be a good game, this is also for PS3 not current gen. Considering there has not been a Godzilla video game in a long time, this stays more true to his movies as it evolves around destruction and facing other foes as Godzilla, because come on Godzilla wins almost EVERY battle in the movies, putting him in a fighting game and limiting his powers to put him at a similar power level to other monsters was not the best idea, albeit fun, but not very true to the movies. I will try and reiterate my point a little better, to the people who knock this game for the graphics, this game is not meant for you, the mechanics, the gameplay, the style, the characters are meant for the Godzilla fans who can appreciate it. They have also stayed very true to the characters original designs and abilities. It's a love letter to the fans.

As a Godzilla fan, this looks fun to play but I wish it was on PC or on PS4. I adored Destroy All Monsters and Save The Earth on the OG Xbox.
