X-MEN: APOCALYPSE To Be Nicholas Hoult’s Last Film As ‘Beast’?

In a recent interview, Nicholas Hoult revealed that X-Men: Apocalypse could potentially be his final appearance as Hank McCoy/Beast! Despite his contract being up following the upcoming sequel, he does say that he'd like to return in future installments, under one condition.. check it out!

Nicholas Hoult has portrayed 'Beast' in X-Men: First Class and X-Men: Days of Future Past, and he will be seen next in the highly anticipated X-Men: Apocalypse. Hoult recently attended an opening party at SXSW, and revealed that X-Men: Apocalypse is the last film on his contract, "This is the last one I'm signed up for," He then goes on to say that he would definitely like to return since his portrayal of the character has been so well received: "The first one did so well and [Days of Future Past] got received so brilliantly," He then continues,"It's like, 'Wow, people really want to see the films' and the best thing is it's a great crew and cast to work with and he's a fun character. I have a good time playing him so I'd keep making them." If I had to wager a guess, I'd say he will sign on for future X-Men films and get to know the newest members in the X-Men franchise. Would you like to see Hoult continue on as the "Blue Gorilla"? Sound off with your thoughts below!

I hope he sticks around. He's a good beast. And at least DOFP finally made him look badass. I HATED the feline-style look in First Class. Looked like he belonged on the yellow brick road.

Hope he sticks around. It's not like he's been doing much else

I hope he sticks around if he's essential for the story-line they're going for.If not and he's just there for filler I'd rather see an other mutant.

I actually like him a lot as Beast. He did look a bit ridiculous in First Class though

Isn't it also supposed to be the last film for people like McAvoy, Fassbender, Lawrence and a few more? Thought they all signed on for three films?

@JamesMann

Isn't he one of the main characters in the new Mad Max movie?

I'm sure he'll renew his contract, the franchise just got rejuvenated and is now kicking into overdrive. No way in hell is he going to miss out on all that cash money.

Only way ill really love him as Beast is if they cgi some muscles on the guy or motion capture his character. Hoult isn't a bad beast and I understand that he's going through mutation after mutation but he looked like Wolfman in DoFP. Still was threatening but I really want to see some messed up stuff happen to his mutation.

I wonder when Hugh Jackman's contract is up....

They did do some practical muscles on Hoult. I actually liked the more lean look. Doesn't compare to Grammer's Beast, but that was casting perfection.

He wasn't utilised so well in DOFP, which I can't really blame Singer for.
Hope he does stick around, especially since we're getting Storm, Scott and Jean!

So is apocalypse going to take place only in the 80's? So we might get to see the xmen in yellow costumes??

@MercwithMouth

Yeah, I remember seeing Nic sporting the muscles on set when the movie was filming back in 2013. I'm a huge fan of actual (physical) effects but ehh, I dunno it would be good to see him continue to elevate throughout his mutation process. Seems like that'll be the case in this film as well with the different time jumping and etc. He doesn't have to be 300lbs with Arny muscles *laughs* but it would be great to seen ore evolution of the beast.

He sucks as Beast. Kelsey Grammar in one movie was more memorable as Beast than Hoult will be after 3 movies.

*1983* to be more precise. It's going to be interesting seeing if they'll be sporting that yellow spandex Cycloos was referring to in X1. The 80's offers a lot of characterization when it comes to clothing. Hopefully (while this film is said to be a disaster film) the X-Men's costumes shead some light into the soon to be gloomy setting.

Then who do you blame? Outside of Logan, Xavier, Magneto, and Mystique - Singer doesn't really know how to utilise his characters very well.

@Ramiel

Alot of the story ideas came from Vaughn, with the only significant change from Singer being the swapping of Juggernaut to Quicksilver.

There's a better possibility of Marvel Studios acquiring DC than the Fox properties.

@Ramiel

DOFP wasn't "Singer's Fault". Matthew Vaughan said that 90% of his story was used in DOFP. Singer just made a few changes to Vaughan's screenplay. Also, Simon Kinberg.

@SteveRogers9 @MercwithMouth

I understand that DOFP really wasn't Singer's movie, but like X1 and X2 it only utilised the 4 characters I mentioned above. Yes, the X-movies have been good, but characters like Cyclops, Jean, Storm, Colossus, Kitty, Iceman, etc have been shitted on in these movies. Maybe this isn't Singer's fault. Maybe it's Fox's fault that only want to focus on 4 characters instead of the whole team.
