Max Landis Thinks 'Batman' & 'Superman' Could Takedown The AVENGERS

Screenwriter Max Landis revealed how he thinks Batman and Superman could takedown Earth's Mightiest Heroes! His scenario for Batman is quite reasonable, but just wait until you hear what he has to say about Superman vs. the Avengers. Hit the jump to check it out!

This debate could go on forever. And when I say forever, I mean it. Screenwriter Max Landis, while on Twitter, revealed how he thought Batman could pick apart the Avengers one by one, and beat them. Now, before you start raging in the comment section about how it's not possible, take a look at his explanation to see if you can relate.

I should also let you know that Landis is not biased with his picks. He admits that he loves certain Avengers better than DC's main heroes. However, he still has to choose the Man of Steel, and Bats over Earth Mightiest Heroes in a fight. Check it out his thoughts below!

My opinion on this stems not from my love of preference of individual characters, but rather for how the characters work best. The Avengers work best when vulnerable; Batman works best when he's written as a domineering and intense force of nature.

I think they'd stand a better chance in Round 2, but Round 1 goes like this. Okay, so let's say The Avengers appear in a city with batman and they fight.

In order:

• Banner gets knock-out darted before he turns into Hulk
• Iron Man's suit gets hacked real quick
• Vision gets EMP'd reeeeal quick
• Thor gets Batwing'd into a building and then glued down with polymer
• B Wids and H-Eye get knocked the f out
• Cap's a fight but Batman wins

Honestly if they fought him one on one it would be a fairer fight because he wouldn't be able to use the city against them as effectively; that ninja training is gonna be a b**ch for the rough and tumble MCU Avengers. Honestly I like Cap as a character more than I like Batman, I like Iron Man more too.

Superman fighting the Avengers is just...not a fight. There's no tactical element to it. He just punches all of them once.

I think that Batman taking down the Avengers is possible. I mean, he did take down the entire Justice League! With that scenario, it really depends on the situation that the Dark Knight is in! Now with Superman, did Landis ever hear of the Hulk? How about Kryptonite? I'm sure Stark would figure that out, before he "knocks them out".

Anyhow, like I said above, this debate could go on for eternity! What do you think about Landis' thoughts? Also, what's your take on Batman and Superman vs. The Avengers? Sound off below in the comment section!

Pretty sure Thor can contest Superman. Others will be knocked out for sure, even Hulk.

As for Batmans scenario.

For me, Batman would take the first fight, the Avengers would win the second, and they would team up in the third meeting.

As for Superman, they would destroy the city (like how Metropolis was destroyed in Man of Steel), then Stark would eventually figure out Superman's weakness (kryptonite), and the Avengers would have a field day with him. OR him and Hulk would tear the world to shreds, and that's starts a whole other debate asking who wins: Superman or the Hulk?

funny thing is I can make up some BS story why anyone can kill anyone. Watch this.

Stray bullet flies and hit's batman from black widow.

or

Batman has stroke before fight starts and dies.

So pretty much yes he "could" beat them, but wouldn't in 75% of scenarios. Also last I checked, stark isn't getting hacked and vision is EMP immune (someone should let me know if that's true or not"

Now MCU Thor will absolutely get knocked out in that situation. But comic Thor would laugh at it.

MoS Superman will just laser beam everyone. Cant believe Marvel Studios made Thor so weak.

But yeah, this view on the character has gotten slightly ridiculous over the years...

lol marvelites getting very defensive. facts are facts though. bats and supes could wipe out the avengers on their own.

only time the avengers would even stand a chance is if pepper pots came in to save iron man again.

Why is Batman always so overpowered?

Okay here's my take:
1. Why would Banner not already be Hulk. Okay lets say that the Avengers are waiting for "Code Green", but normally Banner would be far away from the battle in that case.
2. Stark is smarter than Bruce, I'm pretty sure he wouldn't be hacked as easy as that. Even if he does get hacked, the suit would probably reboot fairly quickly thanks to FRIDAY or JARVIS.
3. Visions source of power is the Mind Stone!
4. Thor would wreck the Batwing, and I doubt some sort of sticky device would stop Thor with or without his hammer.
5. BW and HE, fair enough. But it's not impossible that either one gets a lethal lucky shot.
6. Depending on which Batman, the battle could end differently with Cap. Lets assume he's talking about the Dark Knight Batman...Cap would murder him. BvS Batman, we'll have to find out.
7. Funny he didn't mention Scarlet Witch. SW would literally make Batman crazy.

Superman (DCEU) on the other hand would probably wreck the Avengers sans a few:
1. Cap, HE and BW get stomped.
2. Iron Man if unprepared would get stomped. If prepared, i.e. Kryptonite, would beat Superman.
3. Thor and Hulk would put up a decent fight but would eventually lose i think.
4. Vision thanks to Mind Stone, Vibranium body and phasing abilities beat Superman.
5. Scarlet Witch is a hard one. We don't know her true strength. But I'll give this one to Superman.

Any one of the JL members could take out all the Avengers at once.

And that's ok. Avengers are more humans trying to be guardians & the JL are Gods who are or trying to be in Diana's case humans.

JL is so powerful that you really have to be a talented writer to make sure they all shine but their battles and scales are for bigger then Marvel.

And that's ok because its different. If they both were thr same, shit would be boring.

Batman has admit that cap could beat him in a cross over comic and refused to fight him. If ironman can have a hulk beating suit I don't see why he couldn't do the same for superman. The only one who could actually kill the avengers wth no problem is the flash.

Now I don't mean a shitty writer could do Avengers justice. Because the Avengers are all humans with the exception of Thor, you could tell smaller stories with them. Considering how JL everyone is so powerful, you need more epic storytelling in the villain and the battles they face to showcase their powers.

Different power levels, different directions of writing.

So the MCU versions of the Marvel characters vs the comics version of the DC characters? How is that a fair fight. Because we have yet to see a Batman like the comics version. So he can't be talking live action. If Marvel gets comic book versions too, then Sentry kills all of them. Even the Marvel characters after he goes coo coo when Batman tries to manipulate him. Batman will cause the end of the world.

@ManCalledSting doesn't need a mech suit??? You need to do research on the hellbat suit and the dark knight returns suit because as far as I know those are the only suits that he was able to use to take on superpowered beings. Oh and he has a ANTI JUSTICE LEAGUE MECH SUIT

I really like Landis. Here is where I disagree with him completely.

Are the Avengers a bunch of morons? Iron Man's suit could be hacked so quickly? Thor could be beaten by glue? If Batman has trouble with Joker and Killer Croc, the Avengers would annihilate him.
Superman? I don't know that he can beat Thor. I know he could beat the rest, though I think Iron Man could provide a surprising challenge if he had time to prepare, as he would bring red sunlight and kryptonite to the mix.
Superman and Batman together against the Avengers? I still say Batman goes down fast. Then it's down to Superman against the team, and I already said what I think about that.

Seriously... Batman vs Thor? Batman couldn't win in a zillion years.

Bats has never hung with Supers outside of TDKReturns. Hell one comic Batman was taken over by the Kryptonite Man and Bats was glowing with Kryptonite radiation and Superman still won. And that comic wasn't written by some noob but by Loeb.

Hell going to Hush, Bats nearly broke his hand while fighting Supers. He only sort of won because he had Selina kidnap Lois & had her thrown off a building. Bats whole plan relies on Supers not fighting him at maximum and Supers holding back and because Supers is a good person.

Supers at Max and Bats is dead.

Batman is more intelligent than Tony Stark, hence the whole "Iron Man could get his hands on Kryptonite"scenario is false. First off, before this fight would even happen I doubt Iron Man would know who Superman is. So how could he know the weakness of someone he's never met before or even fought? Captain America is a solider on steroids and nothing more. He is a very skilled fighter, but not on the tier that Batman is. Batman has trained his entire life from when he was a young man, to know when he's an old war-vet. People view Cap as this OP solder soldier when he really just knows how to through a few good jabs and upper cuts. Sure, he would give Batman a run for his money, but that's about it. Black Widow and Hawkeye are sadly going to lose this fight in a matter of seconds, so we don't have to talk about that in-depth. Hulk and Thor are the only members of the Avengers that could win the fight for them. I'm not sure what Landis is referring to about Thor's hammer being advanced technology when it's all kinds of magic, so that would be able to put a stop to Superman, possibly even kill him. If Banner is able to Hulk-out in time before Batman and Superman lay it on thick, then he could at least put Batman out of commission forever, leaving only Superman. Superman wins that fight though, much like the Batman and Captain America fight. Hulk is a rage monster that has a hard time being able to think straight, so he'd just try to hit Superman as much as he could but not realize he wasn't accomplishing anything. Then Superman would shove his fist through Hulk's skull.
