Tons Of New THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Details Revealed (WARNING: POTENTIAL SPOILERS)

While the Superhero Hype Forums is no place to find 100% legit information, a user who has been pretty spot on with his The Amazing Spider-Man 2 stuff has shared a few bits of information regarding the new (and some would say improved) Spidey suit from the upcoming sequel from the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly. Comment below and let me know what you guys think! (Thanks to PunyParker for the heads up!)

I'll post the facts...I can't post the pics with the pop ups because they don't all pop up at once and it would be too many pics but by this point you all know what Spidey looks like...and i misquoted Avi..when it comes to changing the costume he says they listened to the world..at that point, Marc, the costume designer and others set out to redesign it

Eyes-"We've got the best eyes of any suit," says Webb. "Really big, very warm white eyes." Unlike the eyes in the last suit, which were smaller and yellow, these are as large as possible given the size of Andrew Garfield's head. "They're very expressive in their own way," says costume designer Deborah Scott.

Web Symbol -Traditionally, the Spidey suit has a weblike graphic on the chest. This time, costumer took an extremely mathematical and precise approach, says Scott, plotting out the design on a computer in 3-D form. The little-red brick patter is intended as an homage to the Tobey Maguire era suit. "You don't want it flat," she says. "That wouldn't be interesting."

The color -One of the biggest challenges was determining the exact shades of red and blue for Spider-Man's suit. Scott chose hues that are much darker than the last suit's, she says, with richer tones.

The belt -sharp-eyed viewers of the 2012 film noticed that spider-man didn't wear a belt. "It's there in the source material, so this one does," says Scott. Why exactly does Spidey need a belt? "I don't know," she says. "He just always has. There are rules to comic-book characters."

Web shooters-When redesigning the apparatus that Spidey uses to shoot webbing, there were practical questions to consider. "We wanted ours to have an MP3 player in it," says Scott. "You'll see early on in the film that he can turn music on that he's listening to inside the costume through his web shooter."

POTENTIAL SPOILERS BELOW:

Reading it again, Webb says about all the speculation that Gwen dies: "You don't want to make those kinds of assumptions." When asked about the blog speculation and pictures online, he says he's bummed about some pics showing up online but he expected it.

"But we do want to maintain some mystery. Whatever you think is going to happen, you're going to be surprised.

And here's Andrew's exact quote about the script:
"One of the big struggles we had on the first one was to reinvent this already perfect character. This time we have this very, very good script that makes a lot of sense."

When Garfield first head the story for part 2, by screenwriters Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci and Jeff Pinkner, he was impressed by the careful balance it struck between Spider-Man's trickster humor and Peter's emotional depth.

"I almost cried," he says. "Because I was like, 'THIS is what we needed and this is what we were missing a bit on the first one.' I just felt like this warm rain of reassurance rushing through my soul. I was like, 'Okay, we're fine.' If we mess-up, it's my fault now."

The Amazing Spider-Man 2 - For Peter Parker, life is busy. Between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen Stacy, high school graduation cannot come quickly enough. Peter has not forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away, but that is a promise he cannot keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro, emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn, returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

Warm white eyes?

Warm? I mean like what do you mean warm?

Also a MP3 player in his suit to listen to music? I mean that's stupid. Why not have a mini police thing like that police radio thing Tobey's Spider-Man had you know? So when Spider-Man fights Rhino will he be listening to Biggie, 50, or Nas? Nas is from Queens along with Spider-Man.

When he fights Electro, will he be listening to

If he doesn't listen to Jamie Foxx while fighting Electro, then [frick] this movie.

In fact if Jamie does not sing, [frick] this movie.

In fact, let's make this a Spider-Man Broadway play so Jamie can sing in it. What's the worse that can happen with that?

No, Spidey needs to listen to some rock/metal! How about some Thunderstruck? That fits in nicely, right?

Ride the lightning?

Thunder Underground?

Levi, you clearly have no intention of praising this movie. We all know that you think it looks shit but you'll probably see it anyway. There's no need to be a smart-ass on every single TASM 2 article.

I love how people blow things up, like the MP3 player. It's probably just one scene.

Nerd reads detail about movie, screams how the movie is shit. Nerd later watches film, that detail ends up being one of their favorite parts.

@Netman0007

Eh...Elfman is really overrated. James Horner is brilliant. The first time I watched Spider-Man, in the beginning I thought maybe they'd messed up and were playing Batman.

It's funny how Webb is disappointed that some set pics were released online when he was Tweeting them almost twice a day during production.

... Mother of God, Peter has an MP3 player in his web-shooters?

So if somebody's screaming for help and Spider-Man's just swinging on by, he probably wouldn't even hear them. He'd either be singing off-key at the top of his lungs to some recent pop tune or whatever he's listening to, or get mad at whoever was yelling at him for yelling over his favorite song. Man, I hated Peter in "The Amazing Spider-Man". They turned Peter Parker into an unrelatable, uncaring, irresponsible jerk and gave us an even worse film than "Spider-Man 3".

Oh, and I hate the new Electro suit. It looks more like a mix of Mr. Freeze's suit with one of Bryan Singer's X-Men uniforms than Electro. Some say it looks like the Ultimate Electro suit, but even that is an awful suit. And I don't like the "nod" to the classic comic costume with the movie suit either.

"See, fanboys? There's a yellow lightning bolt outlined by green on his suit's sleeves! Happy now?"

No. No I am not. Can we have Disney buy Sony and make them stop making terrible Spider-Man movies now?

"Why not have a mini police thing like that police radio thing Tobey's Spider-Man had you know?"

Or the one he uses towards the beginning of ASM? Which means he probably does also have the scanner still.

Why not see the movie before making assumptions? You know what they say about assumptions, don't you? They make an ass out of you...and umption.

"It makes sense for a modern day Parker to put a music player in it, he's a teenager"
EXACTLY, DING DING DING WE HAVE A WINNER. it'll probably just be one scene, played up for comic relief, but of course people are going to complain in this website.

"Is the Raimi suit REALLY old enough to have an "homage" already?"
yeah it is imo, yeah. there's children out there watching this movie (and making their parents buy toys of it) who don't even know about the raimi movie.

"So if somebody's screaming for help and Spider-Man's just swinging on by, he probably wouldn't even hear them"
oh PLEASE, calm yourself, they said he has music on them not that he has a whole fcking metal concert with the dude screaming in peter's ear 24/7, go drink some tea, have some ibuprofen and take a nice nap, you sound like you need it

"They turned Peter Parker into an unrelatable, uncaring, irresponsible jerk"
lol hello? peter is kind of an irresponsible jerk, he has always been (after getting his powers that is), this isn't news
WYLEEJAY
WYLEEJAY - 7/11/2013, 1:15 PM
They made Peter Parker an unrelatable douchebag wah wah wah...........

Have you read comics? When Peter started as Spider man, he was contemplating stealing money to help his aunt May. He didn't do it cause of what Uncle Ben taught him........so, the Peter in these movies is doing a great job of showing us Peter learning from his mistakes, and learning what Uncle Ben was trying to teach him, without going as far.

The Peter in the Raimi movies just wanted to make money at first, that was ok. Nobody complained. This Peter wanted to defend people before he even had his powers, then after he got them he wanted revenge. Lesson learned without becoming a douche. He will make more mistakes, just like any person, so get over it.

I swear people have nothing better to do than cry like a damn baby.
WYLEEJAY
WYLEEJAY - 7/11/2013, 1:18 PM
And his spider sense would alert him to any danger in the area! He would still be able tell if someone close by needed help even if he was listening to music!

I honestly don't know what to think of this movie anymore. I'll go see it, I'll say that.
