Zachary Quinto Says STAR TREK 3 Will Shoot Next Year - With J.J. Abrams Directing?

Ever since J.J Abrams was set to direct Star Wars: Episode VII, plans for Star Trek 3 were uncertain. Now, Zachary "Spock" Quinto says that the threequel will begin filming next year, and that Abrams is planning to return.

Zachary Quinto, who stars as Spock in the recent Star Trek film series, seems to be very confident with the idea of J.J Abrams coming back. Speaking with Buzzhub, the actor says, "Star Trek 3 should be filming, I suppose, next year. It’s going to be made a lot quicker than the last one. That’s the plan, although nothing is confirmed yet." Later on in the interview, Quinto said he would not like to reunite with J.J Abrams for Star Wars: Episode VII without reason. Surprisingly, he also adds that Abrams is planning to direct Star Trek 3, despite the fact that it would directly conflict with his Star Wars schedule. What do you think?

Star Trek Into Darkness - Written by Damon Lindelof, Alex Kurtzman & Roberto Orci and directed/produced by J.J. Abrams. Returning for the sequel are Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Karl Urban, John Cho, Bruce Greenwood, Simon Pegg, Zoë Saldana, and Anton Yelchin. They are joined by new cast members Benedict Cumberbatch, Alice Eve and Peter Weller. The film beams onto DVD & Blu Ray September 26th

THERE ARE FOUR LIGHTS!!!!!!!
Yes! I'd love it if JJ would comeback and do a third one! I honestly dont want anyone else! Just look what happened the last time someone came to finish a trilogy Iron Shit 3 and X-Crap 3! I'd be ok waiting a little longer if it meant we'd get a third Abrams Star Trek!

If he goes ahead and juggles this with Star Wars well we might not get the Best Star Wars film we could get without his 100% focus...

Wow I'd like to vehemently disagree with grif but the only thing I disagree with is the "shit" part, unless he meant Abrams is THE shit. Cause he is.

Quinto is a great Spock.

I remember Spielberg started filming Munich after the war of the worlds premiere which was in July I think...it was crazy, he shot edited, and scored Munich in something like 2 months.

Abrams can do both as long as he can get the job done in his set time frame. Disney will give him some breathing room too...he gave them Lost, Alias, and how many other shows?
