In a recent interview with Newsarama, Captain America: The Winter Soldier star Sebastian Stan talks about his role as Bucky/Winter Soldier and his Marvel contract. When asked if his Marvel deal, which he considers great job security, will allow him to appear in more films, he responded, "Yes[...] I think I actually have nine." Newsarama then asked Stan if he knew he was going to be The Winter Soldier when he played Bucky in The First Avenger. Here is an excerpt from the interview:

I did, and I didn’t. It was a “maybe.” It led me to prepare myself for this just in case, but I’m not the guy who gets to shoot the movies. When we wrapped, I had no idea if we’d be back. A lot of that has to do with fan response, the public response. But I did really hope that I’d be back to play this character again.

Newsarama went on to ask Sebastian Stan if he had read past comics in preparation for his role and how "Marvel has been on a hot streak." To read the full interview, head over to Newsarama to check out more!

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy — the Winter Soldier. Starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp and Maximiliano Hernández with Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is directed by the team of Anthony & Joe Russo from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing the film. Executive producers on the project include Alan Fine, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee. The creative production team on the film includes director of photography Trent Opaloch, production designer Peter Wenham, editors Jeffrey Ford, A.C.E. and Mary Jo Markey, A.C.E. and three time Oscar®-nominated costume designer Judianna Makovsky. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is set for release on April 4, 2014.

... 9 Movies? That's more than Cap and Iron Man!

Could we be getting either Bucky as Cap...or a Winter Soldier movie?

Marvel is going to milk what villains they can... between Loki, Winter Soldier, Ultron, Thanos and possibly Red Skull (Considering his face is CGI) and HOPEFULLY a new, real Mandarin. Most of Marvels big bads are with Fox or Sony (Galactus, Dr.Doom, Magneto, Apocalypse, Green Goblin, Venom etc...)

For sure Bucky will become Captain America. Chris Evans' contract ends after Avengers 3, whereas Stan will still have 5-6 left after that.

Hopefully Cap (Evans) dies a heroic death in the fight against Thanos:

Evans is already signed for Avengers 3 so no Cap 3 isnt his last

Folks, a nine picture deal doesn't mean he's guaranteed to be in nine movies.

And seeing as Evans has a 6 picture deal (Not 9 like originally planned)

That's

1- Captain America: The First Avenger

2- Marvel's The Avengers

3- Captain America: The Winter Soldier

4- The Avengers: Age of Ultron

5- Cap 3 (2016 or 17)

6- Avengers 3

So unless Evans signs up for a new extended contract, Cap Rogers will most likely be killed off in Avengers 3 :'( Leaving Bucky to fill the role of Cap

They're probably just making up the contracts with more movies than planned so that they can still keep the actors for as long as needed.

What if Cap dies in the beginning of Avengers 3 and Bucky becomes the new Cap in that movie? I'd like to see that.

Quick ideas came into my head. What happens if the bad guys that have come out, come together to battle the good guys in a future film? Think about it. Loki is still alive. Winter Soildier depending on Cap 2 outcome could be alive. The only bad buy that has died is that guy from Iron man 1 and 2 and Malekith. Could we possibly see a villian reunion by the time it's said and done? I have a feeling that all these movies will tie up. Guardians of the Galaxy is happening at the same time these events on Earth are happening. Loki works for Thanos as well as others. Thanos is the main villian with Loki, Winter Soldier, Red Skull ( didn't actually die) and the bad guys from Dr. strange, Antman, Black Panther, etc. think about that idea. That would be glorious!

I cant see it being 9 movies. The only reason sam got away with it is because Fury it timeless. Do they even have that many cap stories to tell on the big screen. C2,A2,C3,A3, plus 5 more movies/stories? Really?
