Web shooters are a must. The fact that Peter can make them is there to establish that he is a genius. His intellect is more an asset to the character than his powers are.

I love how it is made out of a watch. It shows how intelligent and resourceful the character is.

Yeah, it's cool that Peter could whip up webslingers, because he is a genius, and him utilizing his intellect to create synthetic spider strands is damn near miraculous, since current science is still struggling with it.

HOWEVER...as a several decades long Spider fan, I think that the move to organic webspinners was an intelligent one, due mostly to the fact that it embraced the spider aspects of his origin and took him in a new direction (personally, everything about the The Queen, and The Other, and Ezekiel and Morlun were [frick]ing brilliant).

If current Marvel head men ([frick]ing Quesada) were so keen to showcase Peter's intellect beyond his webspinners, they would have had the foresight to allow him to evolve his suit. In the real world, scientists are working to create super lightweight armor with spider silk because it's more durable and combat ready than kevlar, by an insane percentage. Spider-Man should have worked that into his super pajamas ages ago. He should have been spinning suits for a long time, outside of the brief one shot stories.

if i can make those web shooters and those webb fluids, i will be a billionaire, i will not go around we slinging to save peoples lives.^_^
