Producers Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Alter give updates for the future films based on video-games and a comic book
During the red carpet for 'Scream Awards 2009,' a Collider representative had the opportunity to speak with producers Adrian Askarieh and Daniel Alter. During the brief interaction, the producers gave further insight for the three projects they're involved in; "Hack/Slash," "Kane & Lynch" and "Hitman 2."
As far as the current status of "Hitman 2," they say a script is present, which will be turned into the studio by next week. It seems the sequel will be far more brutal than the original film released in 2007. "Hitman" is an interpretation of a video-game series.
Askarieh said "it’s far more action packed and it takes place in America." Alter then mentioned, "it’s more of a genre film." Adrian Askarieh believes by next spring or summer, they'll begin shooting the film.
"Kane & Lynch" will begin filming hopefully in the spring and thus far Bruce Willis will be playing the role of Kane. The role of Lynch has been given to a British actor, which the two producers didn't want to mention as to whom the actor is. This movie is also based on a video-game
The comic book adapted film, Hack/Slash, is being directed by Fredrick Bond. The filming begins early next year. No casting details have been released but Alter mentions information will be released soon.
Whispers68: I wonder who the British actor portraying Lynch is. I haven't read Hack/Slash but I also haven't heard whether it's good or not. As for the Hitman film, I didn't enjoy the original so hopefully the sequel will be much better. Bond is a new director so I hope he has something good in store when Hack/Slash premieres.
