Some previous reports were saying that relatively unknown actor Adam Harris was in talks to play Lex Luthor in Zack Snyder's upcoming reboot. And now, it looks like that is not true at all. More after the jump!

As you know by now, Adam Harris was rumored to portray Lex Luthor in Zack Znyder's Man Of Steel. Then we got some mysterious photos claiming to be from the test shooting of the upcoming reboot. Well, for those of you who didn't like the idea of the actor playing him, rest assured because it was all fake. Thanks to Jeff Sneider from Variety for the following confirmation:

OFFICIALLY 100% DEBUNKED: The actor who everyone thinks has been testing for LEX LUTHOR in MAN OF STEEL has just come clean. It's a HOAX!

@LEEE- Please I really don't want Lex to be older than Martha [frick]ing Kent.

Besides...Snyder already debunked viggo and said he wasn't going to be in the movie.

Although Snyder has been known to tell only half-truths...er...LIES. But I'll take his less-than-trustworthy word for it. What we need is a YOUNG Lex Luthor. If not...then [frick] it go with Billy Zane. But I still prefer a younger dude be Lex. Every film Lex has been an old guy who doesn't do jack shit. And if 'Birthright' really WILL be the backbone for this film then it would make sense to cast younger because in that book Lex and Clark were the SAME EXACT AGE give or take a few months or so. Having Cavill at age 27 and viggo at age 52 it wouldn't make sense.

He is busy doing a different movie that is starting production in 2011 and will be released in 2012 called- "Everyone Has a Plan"

Plus Viggo would've made a much better and more sensible General Zod.

Plus Snyder said officially- VIGGO AINT IN THE MOVIE.

So we know it won't be Billy Zane or Viggo Mortensen.

I'm thinking they'll still go younger with the role. Target age-range should be: 28-34

@LEEE- I'm sticking with my top ones- Zane, Olyphant, Hall and DDL. Though I wanted Zane to be Lex way before this film was ever announced. I wanted him to be Lex back when Spacey was first announced for 'Superman Returns'

By the way...does anyone here know or get any wind of when we can expect to hear a god damn Lex-announcement???

The Lex casting is taking foreeeeever. I'm starting to think he won't even be in the movie. Most of the key roles are already casted. And usually Lex is part of the key-supporting-roles. If he wasn't casted by this point I just don't see him being in the film at all.

Whatever. I look forward to the next OFFICIAL casting annoucement. Hope Lex will be in the movie in some capacity, even if it's minor at first. I suppose I could support Billy Zane in the role, from what I've seen of him. Can't guess who actually IS on Synder and Nolan's radar though...
