We have been hearing about 24 movie for a long time now. But it seems that Kiefer Sutherland and producer Howard Gordon are hoping to start filming this summer. While promoting his new TV show called Touch, Sutherland was also asked about the status of the film and what can we expect.

According to TVLine.com, "Sutherland said that the hope is for the 24 movie to start filming “at the end of April, beginning of May.”" As for how much time has passed between the finale of the show and the film, Sutherland mentioned that "the movie will be “relatively a direct continuation. We’re talking maybe six months from the end of that episode.”"

TVLine added that "...the feature will cover a 24-hour crisis period, though obviously not in real time but over the course of its two-hour (or however long) running time."

Plus, the producer of the film, Howard Gordon confirmed to TV Guide Magazine that Chloe O'Brian played by Mary Lynn Rajskub will also be in the film, along with the new cast:

I wonder how the 24 hours will divided into the movie. Will there be an "hour change" in the movie measured in predetermined minute intervals in real time?

I don't see why they need to carry the ticking clock on. I'd much rather see a Bourne style Jack Bauer film instead.

it doesn't make sense how they'll do it.

are they going to show;

00:00

and then;

00:45

to show the movie has jumped 45 mins?

to fit 24 hours in 2 and a bit hours the clock is going to be doing a lot of jumping.

or will they simply have no clock?

i [frick]ing hate Chloe. just her [frick]ing face annoyed me so damn much i wanted her dead by the end of every season and yet she is the only damn character that didn't at somepoint die.

i even wondered if that nerve gas from i think season 5 would have loosened up the permanent bitch face she was always sporting.
