Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ “The Dark Knight Rises” is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. The screenplay is written by Christopher Nolan and Jonathan Nolan, story by Christopher Nolan & David S. Goyer. The film is produced by Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Charles Roven, who previously teamed on “Batman Begins” and the record-breaking blockbuster “The Dark Knight.” The executive producers are Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Kevin De La Noy and Thomas Tull, with Jordan Goldberg serving as co-producer. The film is based upon characters appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. Batman was created by Bob Kane.

EW also has some more details on the film as well as quotes from Nolan and Bale. More below:

In fact, fans may want to revisit that second film, as Nolan tells EW that the last chapter of his cinematic saga explores the ramifications of The Dark Knight’s chilling climax, in which Batman and super-cop Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) hatch a conspiracy to cover up the sins of Gotham City’s so-called “white knight,” the late Harvey Dent, a.k.a. Two-Face (Aaron Eckhart).

Christian Bale on the end of this trilogy:

"I can tell you the truth because I’m done with it: I felt immense pressure. And I think it’s a good pressure, because you owe it to the films — and the people’s expectations — to make great work."

Christopher Nolan on Bane's voice:

"I think when people see the film, things will come into focus. Bane is very complex and very interesting and when people see the finished film people will be very entertained by him."

Starring Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard and Morgan Freeman, The Dark Knight Rises is set to hit theatres on July 20, 2012!

Nice shot of Bats

@PaulRom, no need to explain yourself, it does. The Avengers is my most anticipated CBM of next year. THis and the Avengers gonna be AMAZING. But yeah The Avegers EW front cover wasn't good at all.

@Antonio Empire's covers tend to be much better than EW's.

@WolvieCBM Agreed. I'd probably like this one more if Batman didn't look like he was gonna puke.

His mouth, or eyes looked photo shopped. I'm not saying it's horrible, but something with his face looks off.

I think that all of the Catwoman marketing is being saved, and will start picking up as we move nearer to the film's release.

@PredatorWOLF I'm pretty sure there's a flubbed take that made it into one of the Burton movies where they didn't have eyeliner on Keaton's eyes for one moment and it looked odd, to say the least. Eyeliner on Batman is a necessary evil in the movies. Only question I have to ask is: in continuity, who applies Batman's eyeliner? Bruce himself or Alfred? :P

cowl looks wider around the neck area than it did in TDK
comicoverlord
comicoverlord - 1/11/2012, 4:14 PM
Definitely wider in the neck, which was much needed. I like they went more grey than just straight black like the other ones. Lots of gadgets added to the belt. And the fabric looks tighter to show more musculature. I'm all for it.
CraptainAmerica
CraptainAmerica - 1/11/2012, 4:20 PM
I agree that the suit looks a little odd but I'm glad there's some focus on Batman. Bale's done an amazing job over the past two movies and gets very little credit and very little time to shine. It's, after all, Bruce's/Batman's story.it's a win from me
Ranger14
Ranger14 - 1/11/2012, 4:21 PM
It looks alright to me. The copper belt looks a little strange in contrast. I'm okay with the Batman character. It's the other characters I have reservations about.
NeoBaggins
NeoBaggins - 1/11/2012, 4:23 PM
@WolvieCBM If you thought the cover was lame and annoying, why take time to post this?
WolvieCBM
WolvieCBM - 1/11/2012, 4:32 PM
NeoBaggins: I thought that Avengers cover was also lame. Actually it was awful but I posted that one too. Why wouldn't I post it? And when I say annoying, I don't mean this film is annoying. I mean these EW covers. Their photoshop "artists" are terrible. I guess they are paying big bucks to studios. Well, that's the only thing that comes to my mind anyway.
