While it is still early to say how much will The Amazing Spider-Man actually make during this 6-day debut, Marc Webb's reboot opened with $7.5 million in midnight screenings, according to Exhibitor Relations and Deadline:

"I’ve just learned that The Amazing Spider-Man opened with $7.5 million in midnight showings, which is the same result as such blockbuster films as Iron Man 2, Pirates Of The Caribbean 2, and even Spider-Man 3."

Good number indeed. Stay tuned for more updates. Starring Andrew Garfield, Rhys Ifans, Emma Stone, Denis Leary, Sally Field and Martin Sheen, The Amazing Spider-Man is now in theatres!

Bazinga. It's weird opening on a Tuesday because if it's on pace like IM2, didn't that make 130? But that was after three days and being on the weekend.

So stoked for the Spider Universe. It's a sheme we won't get to see him on the silver screen with the X-men or Fantastic Four or Avengers anytime soon, but Sony and Webb and company did a great job with the reboot!!!!!

This movie sucked. Aside from special effects. It was based on ultimate spiderman which I didn't think was great. It was more like Twilight Spiderman.

The film was tiiiiiiiiight!!!! I thought it was deep. Oh the way they set up Gwen's character. The fight scenes with the lizard. Parkers relationship with his peers and family.

Parker a genuis. Not a whiny terd. Kudos Sony. I'll be dumping some more cash your way later in week.

SPOILER***

I don't think GG will be the villian in TASM2, but I do know they will introduce MJ and Harry. Peter dumped Gwen at the end becasue Cap.Stacy told him too when he died so Harry will go out with her and Peter then meets MJ and also becomes friends with Harry(before him and Gwen go out)

Avengers was the Best Comic Book Movie Ever but Amazing Spider-Man had the Best Comic Book Action Scenes Ever. This was awesome in IMAX 3D and was way worth the extra cost to see it that way.

Seriously...MORE HATERS? Oh my God...
ALL OF YOU PLEASE...go back and watch your precious little winey Sam Raimi movies.

TWILIGHT? Twilight has vampimers and stupid over-rated werevolves....THIS IS SPIDER-MAN FOR CRYING OUT LOUD.

Now...since I got that out of my system.
THAT WAS SPIDER-MAN. But since you're looking for Twilight or something stupid like that, go watch the Sam Raimi movies.
(not that any of the Sam Raimi movies were "Twilight based", you all just seem so wrapped up in it.)

HOPE YOU ALL ENJOY THEM!
THANK YOU MARC WEBB FOR GIVING US THE REAL SPIDER-MAN! WITH A REAL SOLID STORY AND NOTHING CHEAP!

I think TASM is the most well rounded CBM

Good action

Great plot

Great acting

Great Romance
I think so far out of all the CBMs this year Andrew Garfield put out the best performance.

I agree completely with Spidey31...someone that actually has sense on this site.
I'm glad that it made that much on the midnight showings, the movie really deserved it.

Don't listen to RT either lol if you know it's reboot than you know it's good. Some critcs let the fact that its a orgin get in the way of the films great qualities and un the end trash the movie.
So far I have liked TASM better than any CBM in recent memory that's how much I love spiderman movies.

Again, I have to agree with Spidey31.

Who is Sam Raimi again? OH YEAH....he did the first three that could've been better.

I LOVED The Amazing Spider-Man.
I laughed (along with the rest of the audience, was utterly AMAZED...SO OVERWHELMING.
