While we wait for the official trailer, studio has released this full plot synopsis for James Mangold's upcoming film, The Wolverine. The film is set after the original trilogy (and Origins), where we find Logan in Japan as he faces the ultimate nemesis. Here is the full thing:

Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine, the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world he faces his ultimate nemesis in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality, emerging more powerful than we have ever seen him before.

Directed by James Mangold and starring Hugh Jackman, Will Yun Lee, Hiroyuki Sanada, Tao Okamoto and Svetlana Khodchenkova, The Wolverine is set to hit theatres on July 26, 2013.

Well sounds more promosing than the synopsis from the first movie...Wolverine is an indestrutable killing machine that meets a whole bunch of mutants that have no signifigance to the storyline and he blows up a helicopter by.....slicing it... BOOM! Gambit....Groan...Deadpool.

I don't even care if the movie sucks, I just wanna see the costume. I've lost all my love for Wolvie because of the lousy portrayl and center of attention they made him in every movie. Just give me the costume :)

I really can't get excited about this until I see a trailer and get a feel for the movies vibe. Mangold can be pretty hit or miss. However, I'm still sad about Aronofsky dropping out so maybe I'm being unfair.

I think the suit is the only way they can salvage this franchise. Shitty movie or not it would be awesome to see the real wolverine. Not pretty boy in a wife beater.

He was a indestructable really nice guy, warm-hearted, softie, who gets beat up by everyone he crosses. When watching that movie, it's very hard to understand why ANYONE on stryker's team would have been intimidated by him. I'm not sure how they can maintain this portrayal of Logan as some kind of tortured soul, when based on these movies, he's never done anything bad...
