IMDb has had Olivia Munn cast as Iron Maiden almost since her cameo was announced early last year. But as most of us know, IMDb is not the most reliable source for upcoming movie news. It's cool to check out if you can't remember who was in The Breakfast Club or something, but other than that, it's pretty bad.

Last year Jon Favreau jokingly said in an interview with Munn that she would play Iron Maiden in Iron Man 2. She later confirmed that her role was a light and comedic cameo.

Then she said in another interview that her cameo was being cut and replaced with a larger role. Apparently Marvel and Favreau loved her so much they let her choose a character in the Marvel universe to play from here on out.

Now the question is, what character is Olivia Munn playing in Iron Man 2?

Wasp / Janet van Dyne
I doubt the likelihood of Marvel offering up Wasp without having Edgar Wright involved. It’ll end up being a pretty big role.

Scarlet Witch / Wanda Maximoff
Scarlett Johansson mentioned in a recent interview that she talked to Jon Favreau and Kevin Feige about different female characters, one of them being Scarlet Witch. The fact that they're talking about Scarlet Witch makes me happy to know that Fox doesn't own the rights to her and Quicksilver.

I think this is more likely than Wasp. I would really like to see the Maximoff twins as live action Avengers!

Ms. Marvel / Carol Danvers
I wasn’t going to include Ms. Marvel in this, but then I thought ‘Why not? All they would have to do is change her hair and eye colour to make her look the part.' I don’t know... I haven’t seen Olivia act yet and I really think a... sorry... a real actress should be playing Ms. Danvers.

Tigra / Greer Nelson
This is another plausible character choice for Olivia. Not too much to live up to, she can run around partially naked all day, showin’ off the goods. I think she’d really enjoy herself as Tigra.

She-Hulk / Jennifer Walters
Personally, I’d like to see maybe an older, more experienced actress pull off Jennifer Walters, like Demi Moore. I couldn’t really see Marvel introducing She-Hulk in an Iron Man movie... at least not yet. There should be a successful Iron Man/Hulk crossover first.

No, Tony Stark talking to General Ross doesn’t count! :)

Spider-Woman / Jessica Drew
Another plausible character for Olivia! Spider-Woman is possibly the best choice in my humble opinion. She would be a great comedic replacement for Spider-Man since he’ll be M.I.A. for these epic movies. I don’t want this to sound like I’m knocking the character because I really do like Spider-Woman.

Based on my meticulous analysis, I think she’s going to be S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent, Jessica Drew A.K.A. Spider-Woman.

Yeah...I'm not expecting much out of her role. He did say it would be a Marvel character though, so who knows.

I say she'll be SHIELD agent #2

On a lighter side....when SHIELD thaws / breaks out Captain America from the ice, they need a full time agent to look after him - acclamatize him, talk to him, give him TLC - who better than a beautiful SHIELD lady Agent to take up the task?

Enter Olivia Munn...!!!

I don't remember the source, but Olivia did say that she was allowed to pick a character from the Marvel universe.

@ chris

yeah, i'm sure they gave her a specific list of people to choose from, lol. its not like they said, "pick anyone you want and its yours."

just because its a Marvel Universe character doesn't mean its anyone important. it doesn't mean its an Avenger, or even a super hero. remember the blonde in Iron Man? she's a marvel universe character, too. it could just be someone like that.

@ paulley

and a good article it was :)

not that this is a bad article. i just don't think there's any way she'll be playing anyone important.

i could see her being Jessica Drew Agent of SHIELD, and just not making her Spider Woman.
