Snow White - Jennifer Garner
I never watched Alias, I didn't care for her as Elektra and I was able to miss all of those romantic comedies she was more than likely in.
The one movie that made me realize she could act was her emotional performance in Juno, although I do think it was a smart move to give her little screen time.
An R-rated movie like Fables could give Jennifer Garner a chance at CBM redemption.
Bigby Wolf - Mickey Rourke
Bigby Wolf is a detective in Fabletown, friends with Snow White, working in the same offices as she. He's like a slightly tamer version of Wolverine or Rorschach.
I considered Mark Ruffalo, Viggo Mortensen and Guy Pearce, but ultimately, I think Mickey Rourke seemed to be the best fit.
Mickey is a great actor, just don't ask him to fake a Russian accent.
Sin City and The Wrestler are two of my favourite movies of all time and I am excited to see almost anything he's apart of.
Even the low-budget Killshot was bad ass!
Boy Blue Horner - Justin Bieber
Assistant to Snow White, Boy Blue is a bit of a creep. I think this could be an interesting casting choice. I have not seen the kid act, but I couldn't think of any young, pretty boy, blonde actors and I wasn't about to Google. I started thinking of the events that take place in the series and I actually really think this is the type of role he would use to break his teen idol image.
To the naysayers, I hear ya! I couldn't see Boy Blue having too much to do in the film as it is an ensemble cast and he would be a supporting character to Snow White.
Rose Red - Renee Olstead
Rose Red is elusive and the epitome of a bad girl. Getting at her sister by sleeping with ex-husband, Prince Charming and then running cons on both Jack and Bluebeard.
I bet Renee would jump at the chance to portray this overly sexualized version of Snow White's sister. She has an amazing body and to me, seems perfect for the role. If she could act. I'm not sure, but I betting she could.
Jack - Dustin Milligan
Jack is of Jack and the Beanstalk lore. In Fabletown, he is used as a pawn by Snow White's sister, Red Rose in an attempt to swindle the wealthy Bluebeard.
Eventually, Jack gets in over his head, being fingered as the number one suspect in Red Rose's disappearance.
If you've ever seen Mike Judge's Extract, you might remember him as the pool boy and the person who saved that movie from mediocrity! I have to say, I would like to see him get more film work because he was great and I think he would be perfect as Jack. He plays the loveable, but dim extremely well.
Flycatcher - Alex Winter
I wanted to see an actor from the 80's in this supporting role. I think the contrast between Alex Winter and Justin Bieber, I could imagine as interesting. I thought of Crispin Glover and Paul Ruebens, but I think he has the large, animated eyes for the someone who was formally a toad. With a little prosthesis and make-up he could transform into a totally different person.
Goldilocks - Marley Shelton
You may know her from Sin City or Planet Terror (that's what I remember her from anyhow). She is a great and under-rated actress and I could easily see her pull of the psychotic Goldilocks!
Prince Charming - Paul Rudd
There was nobody else to even consider for this! He's the type of actor who can get away with doing disgraceful things on screen and still have the audience say, "What a nice guy!"
Once married to Snow White, they were divorced after she caught him sleeping with her sister, Red Rose. Now, Prince Charming wanders Fableland, sleeping with and living off of women. He is extremely sleazy, but likeable and very... charming.
Bluebeard - Dwayne Johnson
You need a handsome actor with an intimidating figure and I think Dwayne Johnson has that presence.
A former pirate, he is an extremely rich public figure in Fableland. Married multiple times, all of his previous wives met an untimely and often gruesome death.
At the time of Red Rose's disappearance, he realizes she and Jack were running a con of him in an attempt to take his fortune and kingdom.
Cinderella - Yvonne Strahovski
Although I think I'm in the camp to see her as Ms. Marvel in the future, I am also someone who doesn't mind seeing actors take on multiple comic book characters, so long as they're very different. Cinderella is a spy of sorts, a secret private investor for Bigby Wolf.
She is involved with several men in Fabletown including Bluebeard, Prince Charming and Ichabod Crane.
Grimble - Clifton Collins, Jr.
From what I've read, Grimble is the security guard at the building Snow White and Bigby work in. He pretty much sleeps while life goes down in the lobby.
Beauty - Scarlett Johansson (cameo)
After leaving the Homelands and losing the fortune, Beauty and her husband, Beast have hit a rut in their relationship and are looking for a third party to help resolve their issues.
Their contributions to the movie would be minimum with mostly bickering. But would be expanded in in sequels.
Beast - Liam Neeson (cameo)
Beast goes in and out of his transformations from human to beast throughout the comic depending on Beauty's mood.
Molly Greenbaum - Kirsten Dunst (cameo)
One of Prince Charming's female conquests whom he meets in the restaurant where she was waiting tables.
Hobbes - Michael Berryman
Hobbes is Bluebeard's butler.
You might remember Michael Berryman from such films as The Hills Have Eyes of The Devil's Rejects.
I have Berryman cast in as an X-Men character, but that'll be for another time! :)
Colin (voice) - Don Rickles
If you're a comatose victim and you're not sure what Don Rickles would sound like and Colin, picture an even angrier Mr. Potato Head.
I would love to see Rickles voice a very brash and insulting pig. I love picturing how funny it would be to see him arguing with Mickey Rourke's character, Bigby Wolf.
